1 Peter 1:13-16

The word "holy" is another word that can be taken out of context by us as people. For that reason, I would invite all of us to keep the following in mind concerning this word
First, based on the Greek word that is present here, we are invited to remember that we have been made holy not by anything that we did on our own, but from what God obtained and overcame for us through Jesus on the cross. Our being made holy, therefore, is a task that has been given to us in which we share His holiness with the world.
Second, we are also invited to remember that this is not something that we are to share with the world apart from God, but rather, is only something that we can rightly share by remaining connected to the One that made us holy in the beginning. And in my opinion, this is more often than not, the thing that we frequently fail to remember.

Stay connected to the Vine friends, and allow Him to direct your footsteps.

Have a great week in Jesus!

Matthew 5:3-12

The word "blessed" as it is used in our world today more likely than not has a different meaning than how Jesus actually presented it to the people at that time in conjunction with this portion of His Sermon on the Mount. What does the word "blessed" actually mean? Please watch the video to find out.

Psalm 8:1-9

In Psalm 8, David reflects on two main things. First, (v.1-2) how the glory and majesty of God's eternal kingdom is different from the glory and majesty of all worldly kingdoms (past, present and future). Second, (v.3-8) how much God cares for humanity through the divine benediction (Genesis 1:26-30) that was given to us from the beginning.
Perhaps in response to these two things, David both begins and concludes this Psalm in the only way that makes sense - that is by testifying about the greatness of God in all the earth.
