Vima Church

Vima Church "To see Wichita experience the real Jesus.”

Sundays at 9:00a + 10:45am There they had many opportunities to grow and develop in various aspects of ministry.

For over 14 years, Pastor Jon and Stephanie had the honor to serve as worship, creative, young adult and discipleship pastors at a significant church in Fort Smith, Arkansas. These experiences shaped and prepared them to launch and pastor Vima Church. Pastor Jon and Stephanie felt God call them to plant a new life-giving church in Wichita, Kansas in March of 2019 as they were praying and asking Go

d what their next step might be. During a visit to Wichita God spoke clearly to our pastors that “these are the people I’ve called you to.” From that moment on they begin the launching process of Vima Church. Jon and Stephanie partnered with Association of Related Churches and were approved and trained to plant this church. The Morris’ moved to Wichita in July of 2019 and immediately begin meeting people, building teams and preparing to launch services on January 26, 2020. What they did not know was they were starting a brand new church just weeks before it was going to be “shut down” for the stay at home order. The next few months were trying, but God was so faithful. Since coming back in late summer of 2020 there has been a constant growth, hundreds saved, and many baptized. God has sent some incredible people to come alongside this vision of this church – to see Wichita experience the real Jesus – and it is happening now! Jon and Stephanie have four children: Jadon, Jonah, Willow and Abel and a small family dog named Murphy. They love watching movies, grilling out, playing sports, being loud and having fun.

In this week’s message from our Ruth series, we look at the moment Boaz meets with the other redeemer and chooses to handle a difficult situation with integrity and honor. Even when the process was uncomfortable, costly, and uncertain, Boaz remained faithful to do what was right.
This message reminds us that honor still matters — especially when it costs us something. In a world that often looks for shortcuts, we’re challenged to live with integrity, trust God in the process, and believe that obedience and honor always lead to something greater in the hands of God.

In week three of our Ruth series, Pastor Ryan walks through Ruth 3 in a message about surrender, faith, and obedience in uncomfortable places. As Ruth steps forward in trust, we see that following God often means loosening our grip on control and moving forward even when the full picture hasn’t been revealed.
This message reminds us that surrender requires movement, trusts God in the removing, and learns to wait on the Redeemer. When we truly know the character of God, we can trust Him with what we don’t yet understand — believing that He is faithful even in the waiting.
