Why did Jesus have to die?

Because we needed a perfect sacrifice. God, in love, sent His only son to die for us. God knew we would fail and even still he created us .... that we were worth creating and saving.

Without Jesus we would be hopelessly lost. Disciples of Christ are made right ONLY through the sacrificial death of Jesus. We have much to be grateful for!

We discussed in Sunday School how this should impact the way we see sinful people and sharing the gospel with them.

Take time to review the questions and our verse for the week.

Why do we pray?

Jesus gave us several examples, as we saw last Sunday, on how, when, why and the importance of prayer.

This week we will be looking and discussing "why did Jesus have to die".

These questions are a review of last week, as well as the verse from last Sunday.

Take a moment to review and consider both.

What does it look like when we serve together in the Kingdom?

Our Mark of a Disciple this week was "Disciples of Christ invite others to serve in the Kingdom of God."

Remember that small acts of service might not seem like much at the time, but God often turns small seeds into big trees! Never underestimate what God can do with just a little bit of faithfulness.

This Sunday we will be looking at "Making Disciples."

This week in Sunday School we looked at how Jesus reached out to others. Jesus reached out to Zacchaeus, who was not considered righteous by his community. He would have actually been considered a thief and a traitor. However, Jesus saw something else when he looked at Zacchaeus. The Mark of a Disciple this week is "Disciples of Christ spend time with outsiders". Jesus made it clear that no one is beyond His saving love. Take time to think on that and how you can reach out to others. Meditate on the questions and the memory verse for this week. Who can you reach out to this week?

This past Sunday we started our next section on The Habits of Jesus. We did & will be looking at some of the habits we see Jesus live out in the Gospels. Because Jesus lived a perfect life, he set the perfect example for us on what humanity was meant to be. Following the practices of Jesus will help us live a life that more closely resembles the life of Christ. The mark of a disciple this week is "Disciples of Christ spend time alone with God."

We encourage you to take time to review the questions, as well as study the verse.

The Mark of a Disciple this week is that Disciples of Christ take on the name of Christ. Meditate on that thought .... how well do you wear the name of Christ to those around you?

Take time to review the questions and challenge yourself. Also, study the verse for this week and take time to memorize it.

This week our Deep Discipleship series in lesson was "Living Stone and Solid Rock". We looked at the significance and impact of Jesus giving Simon the new name of Peter.

The Mark of a Disciple this week is that Disciples of Christ are foundational in carrying out the Gospel message.

Take time to review the questions and challenge yourself. Also, study the verse for this week and take time to memorize it.

Dan. 7:14 | “…to him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve him; his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom one that shall not be destroyed.”

This past Sunday our Junior/High School classes started our Deep Discipleship series in Sunday School. Our first chapter is called "What's in a Name".

This week's lesson was "God-Given Names". We looked at Abraham & Sarah and discussed trust in God & believing that God can do the impossible.

I encourage you to look at the following questions and challenge yourself.

Also, study the verse for this week and take time to memorize it.
