Francis of Assisi is to continue the mission of Jesus Christ as Priest, Prophet, and King through the ministry of Catholic education, empowered by the presence of the Holy Spirit. In particular, we seek to develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ in each of our students, faculty, staff, and parents as members of the Body of Christ. Sharing in Jesus’ prophetic ministry, we seek to proclaim

the Good News of Jesus Christ in all we say and do, in good times and in bad, when popular and unpopular. Although this teaching ministry occurs primarily in the classroom, it extends to all that we say and do in the name of St. Sharing in Jesus’ kingly ministry, we are called to serve, rather than to be served. In particular, we seek to develop a spirit of true Christian stewardship in our students, faculty, staff, and parents. We endeavor to be of service to each other in our strengths and to be served by others in our weaknesses. In living our baptismal call to be priest, prophet, and king, we seek to form ourselves and our school community into the image of Christ who is The Priest, The Prophet and The King.

🌱 Two weeks of Farm-to-Plate fun with our 3rd graders!

👩‍🌾👨‍🌾Our SFA Garden has already given students two delicious opportunities to harvest, learn, and taste food grown right here at school.

First, students harvested Dragon Tongue green beans from our hydroponic tower, learning how plants can grow without soil while observing, tasting, and recording the beans’ unique characteristics.

The following week, volunteer gardener Mrs. Hampton helped our 3rd graders harvest several varieties of fresh lettuce. 🥗 Students enjoyed a salad feast—and harvested so much that the extra lettuce was added to our school lunch line that day!

From green beans to garden-fresh salads, our Farm-to-Table Taste Tests are helping students discover where food comes from, learn how it grows, and be brave enough to try something new.

✨ A Sacred Beginning ✨

On August 22, our St. Francis of Assisi community gathered for the Blessing and Dedication of new Our Lady of Light Chapel and the Nazareth Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Atrium.

Fr. James Schibi celebrated Mass and blessed these beautiful spaces, entrusting them to Christ as places of prayer, wonder, formation, and encounter.

This special day marks a new chapter for Catechesis of the Good Shepherd at SFA—a ministry that has helped our children know and love Jesus, the Good Shepherd, since 2002.

May Our Lady of Light guide our children ever closer to Christ, and may these sacred spaces nurture faith for generations to come.

At St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School, our bell-to-bell personal device-free policy helps create a safer, more focused environment where students can be fully present for learning, friendships, and school life.

⚠A few important reminders:
• Students are encouraged to leave phones and smart devices at home.
• Devices brought to school must remain turned off and put away.
• Personal devices may not be used during the school day or Extended Day Program (EDP).
• Students should have a pick-up plan and know a parent/guardian phone number in case they need to use the school office phone.
• Visible, accessible, or in-use devices will be confiscated.

A new addition to our teacher and staff copy room: a Rosary Abacus. 📿

In the middle of busy school days, we hope it becomes a simple reminder to pause and pray—maybe a teacher slides one bead while waiting on a copy job, or prays a full decade during lunch. One person may begin the Rosary, and together, we’ll work to finish it.

Through each prayer, we’ll lift up our students and families, our faculty and staff, our school and parish, and the intentions in our hearts.
