It’s gardening season! If you are involved this this endeavor, you’ll prepare the soil, plant the seed or plant, fertilize, water, prune and reap a harvest! As I consider my tomato plants – I’m learning that you can aid to fruit production by pruning branches. This process aids the plant to focus on its fruit rather than its fluff (beauty of leaves, etc). All of this is possible as I care for the root system, the nutrient life-giving stem, that enables the plant to move beyond looking ‘pretty’ to producing delicious tomatoes. Relative to your life, are you attached to the healthiest roots system available?

Yesterday there were maps, today we have GPS. Basically, both provide the same resource, a path to a specific destination. But before that, and yet today, a more trusted and dependable method of obtaining a memorable and secure journey is to follow a guide. That is to get someone who is familiar with the destination and path to get there. They usually are familiar with obstacles, hazards and astounding sights you don’t want to miss along the route. They often will encourage you when it is stressful and hard, leading you through difficult portions and at times around sections that are too dangerous. For this journey we call life, Jesus declares that he is The Way. What Way are you following?

There is plenty of darkness and chaos swirling around. They’re often like our spring thunderstorms which can be loud, frightening, blinding and destructive. When Jesus declared that he is the resurrection & life, he was establishing his authority and transplanting hope in the hearts of anyone who desires to follow him. The thing is, he’s not just promising this for some future – after death experience but the reality for that promise to begin today. May I say, he desires to resurrect you to life! To bring you to situations where you can decide to let go of habits, mindsets & histories that suffocate the life out of you. This becomes available to you, not from more intense effort but from deeper surrendering to his presence. Come and receive life!

You don’t have to look for trouble to get attacked! There are dark forces in this world who prey on the vulnerable and dominate the inattentive. The greatest strength you have is recognizing you need a ‘Shepherd’. It’s not a sign of weakness but of wisdom! Come and see, come and hear that the Shepherd is good and that he desires to bring to the best places.

We can underestimate the power that the Bible has! You may look at it as words printed on a page and gather together into a Book. That is true but understand whose Word it is! The words recorded here set captives free, open prison doors, rattle hell’s gates, provide divine insight, unlock the way of wisdom and illuminate the steps for your life. It gives encouragement and becomes a warrior’s tool for engaging in internal and external battles! Come and hear what God’s Word has done for others . . ,
