Beloveds,
I hope you are warm and safe as we wait out this winter storm. We are expecting 8 to 12 inches of snow before Sunday. I have a lot to say, but here are the things I want you to actually hear:

> You probably should stay home this weekend

> NO CHOIR
NO YOUTH GROUP
NO SUNDAY SCHOOL
NO Programming of any kind!

> The Annual Parish Meeting & Potluck is postponed to February 1st

> The Acolyte Appreciation Sunday is also postponed to February 1st.

> DO NOT wait to hear "church is cancelled" as a way to determine if you should go to church... the weather and driving conditions are what should inform your decision.

> DO NOT WORRY ABOUT ANY ASSIGNED JOB YOU MAY HAVE (acolyte, usher, lector, etc) as you make the decision to go to church...the weather and driving conditions are what should inform your decision.

> DO NOT EXPECT THE PARKING LOT TO BE CLEARED as an expectation when deciding whether you should go to church... If the snow fall is enough that you don't want to walk through it, then you should not be out in it.

Be safe... stay warm... and pray for those who sleep outside to find a warm place to sleep.

This week we remember St. Stephen’s, Wichita in the diocesan cycle of prayer (The Feast of St. Stephen is Dec. 26):

Almighty and everliving God, ruler of all things in heaven
and earth, hear our prayers for this parish family. Strengthen
the faithful, arouse the careless, and restore the penitent.
Grant us all things necessary for our common life, and bring
us all to be of one heart and mind within your holy Church;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Youth, ever thought about joining a DND group? Guess what!! We have one!! Not sure how its played but always been intrigued? We have both a novice/beginner and an intermediate/advanced group. So bring your friends, bring your dice and join our DND club every other Sunday from 12pm to 3pm. Lunch is provided.
