The Seed

We are a Gospel-centered church in Wichita, KS. The Seed Church planted in downtown Wichita on Sunday April 8th, 2012. Our focus as a church is Gospel. Community.

We began as a small core team of individuals who desired to see more healthy churches planted in this city. Mission. We believe in the power of the Gospel to change lives. We believe in the significance of community to apply and model authentic faith. And we believe in the priority of mission to bless this city with God’s redemption in Jesus Christ. We are a Gospel-centered community living on mission in this city, for this city.

August 30th: GC group information will be live on the Church Center app for you to browse

September 6th: GC sign-ups begin! Be sure to set a reminder on your phone - groups can fill up quickly

Last Sunday, Pastor Ryan discussed two charts from the book The Gospel-Centered Life that illustrate how our faith develops as believers.

The Cross Chart reminds us that as we mature in our faith, our awareness of both God's holiness and our own sin should deepen. Rather than leading to discouragement, this growing awareness magnifies our gratitude for Jesus, whose finished work bridges the gap by paying for our sin and clothing us in His perfect righteousness.

But because of our sin, our walk with Christ can often resemble the Shrinking the Cross chart. Instead of allowing the cross to become greater in our eyes, we minimize our need for it through performing (comparison, legalism, pride) and pretending (ignoring the need for change).
