Good evening, church family!

It’s time to prepare for Sunday with a focus on the things above.

This Sunday we will begin a 4-week series on heaven. There are many ideas out there about heaven: halos, harps, shoulder angels, streets of gold, pearly gates and wings all might pop up in our imaginations, but we’re going to do some mythbusting as we keep our focus on what scripture and Jesus told us about heaven.

We often think of heaven as a distant, futuristic place. The Bible describes something a bit different. Let’s dive into scripture together on Sunday morning as we sort out what we should know about heaven.

Therefore, if you were raised with Christ, look for the things that are above where Christ is sitting at God’s right side. Think about the things above and not things on earth.
-Colossians 3:1-2

We’ll worship the Lord together, spend time in prayer and conclude by receiving Communion as a church family.

Good afternoon, church family!

Who’s ready to CELEBRATE???

This Sunday is Celebration Sunday at Woodland Lakes Community Church!

I won’t spoil the big surprise, but we’re going to reveal three numbers that give us a glimpse of just how awesome God is and how committed we are to His mission and the future of the church.

So let’s gather as a church ready for a party! Here’s a couple of ways in which you can help make the celebration the best ever:
• Stay out of the sanctuary until 10 a.m. We’ve decorated. Big. And we don’t want to ruin the surprise for you by getting an early look. We’ll have the doors closed (and the big curtain on the platform closed as well!). That’s a great time to grab a doughnut and coffee and visit with friends in the café.
• Get into the sanctuary by 10:30 a.m. OK, I know we’re a friendly church, and we love connection and conversation in the lobby before the service. And I don’t want that to stop. But if those conversations linger outside the sanctuary beyond 10:30, you’re going to miss things you don’t want to miss! Remember, our kids, babies and children’s volunteers will be with us for the entire service. So join in the fun!
• When finding a seat, consider scooting closer to the middle of your section or sitting closer to the front. Over the past few months we’ve seen larger attendance numbers. Help those looking for a seat by making room where you can.
• Sing. Pray. Worship. And take it all in. The NEXT Initiative has taken us on a long, challenging, Spirit-led journey with beautiful surprises at every turn, and we have met God’s call as a church with generosity, obedience and sacrifice. So don’t let Sunday morning pass by in a blur!

We are launching a new intergenerational ministry at WLCC! Prayer Partners is a meaningful way for children and teens in our church to be connected with older members of our congregation through intentional prayer, encouragement, and relationship. A short informational meeting is scheduled immediately after church on Sunday, June 14th. Mark your calendar now!

Good evening, church family!

It’s time to prepare for a special Pentecost Sunday!

This is the time on the church calendar when we celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit, which came to a group of Jesus’ followers in Acts 2.

The same power that descended upon Jesus at His baptism was given to His followers with “the howling of a fierce wind” and “what seemed to be individual flames” (Acts 2:2).

The world was never the same again.

There is so much that the Holy Spirit brings, prevents and enables. We’re just trying to keep up! This Sunday we’ll focus on the Holy Spirit’s presence and activity among us. There is much to celebrate and plenty of reasons to worship the Lord!

But there’s also some questions.

“They were all surprised and bewildered. Some asked each other, ‘What does this mean?’” (Acts 2:12)

What does it mean when the Holy Spirit fills our hearts and lives? Let’s find out together this Sunday morning.

Good evening, church family!

Here’s how I’m preparing for Sunday: a good night’s rest and a healthy dose of aloe!

We had such a blast at SpringFest earlier today! So much work and preparation went into this event, and it was a joy seeing friends connect and spend time together all over our church property.

We enjoyed face painting, live music, delicious food from the grill, indoor games, outdoor games and even gave away a few door prizes! I’m sunburned and need a good nap, but I’m also so thankful to the many who participated today!

That brings us to Sunday, when we’ll once again walk through the doors of the church to worship the Lord and grow in our faith. I also want to encourage you to invite a friend, save a seat and bring your Bible. It’s going to be a wonderful Sunday at Woodland Lakes Community Church!

We’ll continue in our series “When Jesus Shows Up” as we look at the end of the Gospel of John to see what happens when Jesus steps into our lives. We also have one more story to share – yet another a familiar face with an incredible testimony about a second chance that made all the difference!

“But let all who seek you celebrate and rejoice in you.
