Forgiving others is a command for the Christian. So much so scripture says that torment will be sent to those who don’t forgive. Matthew 18:34-35

When Christ died on the cross for our sins He paid it all!!! It’s important to accept and receive His forgiveness for ourselves.

When we hold things against ourselves that He has already paid for we are rejecting that forgiveness and basically playing God for our lives.

We are never told in scripture to forgive ourselves and I’m guessing this is because that puts the focus on self rather than accepting what He has done for us. He paid it we accept it.

I came across this teaching on this I did awhile back and decided to share again.

No man is greater than his prayer life. The pastor who is not praying is playing; the people who are not praying are straying. We have many organizers, but few agonizers; many players and payers, few pray-ers; many singers, few clingers; lots of pastors, few wrestlers; many fears, few tears; much fashion, little passion; many interferers, few intercessors; many writers, but few fighters. Failing here, we fail everywhere.
