FIRSTkids is the 1st- 5th grade ministry at First Baptist Church in Wichita Falls, Texas. Our Mission is to invite kids to pursue Jesus with passion

Activities that spark interest, imagination and are fun makes coming to church a happy time for children. Our desire is to partner with parents in laying foundations for the spiritual growth of children in age-appropriate ways through our Sunday morning LIFE Groups, New Believers Classes, Awana Clubs, and Upward Sports Leagues. Then add to that our Summer Camps and VBS plus a host of other programs/events for more learning and excitement!

VBS 2026: ILLUMINATION STATION 💡✨

Get ready for an unforgettable week at VBS 2026—Illumination Station! 🎉

This summer, we’re shining a light on the truth that Jesus is the Light of the World (John 8:12), and when we follow Him, He brightens our path, reveals truth, and shines through us for others to see! 🌟

Join us Monday through Thursday for an exciting adventure filled with fun, faith, and friendship as kids discover who Jesus is and what it means to follow Him!

VBS is open to kids entering Kindergarten (Fall 2026) through completed 5th grade, and every day will be packed with:
💡 High-energy Worship Rally
📖 Engaging Bible stories that illuminate God’s Word
🎨 Creative crafts that reflect His truth
🏃 Games & recreation full of fun and energy
🍿 Snacks and moments to connect with friends

☀️🏕️ FIRSTkids Camp 2026 Scholarship Applications Are NOW OPEN! 🏕️☀️

We believe every kid should have the opportunity to experience Kids Camp 2026, and we never want finances to stand in the way of what God may want to do in a child’s life.

We have a limited number of camp scholarships available this year and would love to help make camp happen for as many kids as possible! ❤️

A few important details:
✅ Scholarship applications are now open
✅ Scholarships are limited and awarded based on availability
✅ A minimum $100 deposit is required for all campers, even if a full scholarship is awarded

Please let us know how we can help and if your family needs assistance. We’re here for you and want to partner with your family however we can.

Day 3 of cheering on kids at Field Day and we’re loving every minute of it! ☀️🙌

Today we got to hang out with some awesome FIRSTkids at Ben Franklin and Fowler, and once again it was such a blast stepping into their world and cheering them on outside the church walls! Seeing those smiles when kids spot us in the crowd never gets old ❤️

☀️ Meet the FIRSTkids Summer Interns! ☀️

At FIRSTkids, we believe ministry is bigger than just programs and events — it’s about discipling the next generation and raising up future leaders who love Jesus and love people.

One of the ways we live that out is by not only investing in your kids, but also by intentionally creating opportunities for high school graduates and college students to step into ministry, grow in their faith, and learn what it looks like to serve the local church with humility, passion, and purpose.

This summer, our interns will help lead worship, games, small groups, VBS, Kids Camp, Sunday mornings, and so many behind-the-scenes moments that help create environments where kids can encounter the love of Jesus.

We are praying this summer is impactful not only for the kids who walk through our doors, but also for these young leaders as they continue discovering God’s calling on their lives. We want our kids to see older students who boldly follow Christ, serve others joyfully, and model what it looks like to live out their faith daily.

Parents, thank you for trusting us to partner with your family. Thank you for allowing these young leaders the opportunity to pour into your children, encourage them, pray over them, and point them toward Jesus week after week.

We can’t wait for you to meet our interns and see the energy, joy, and heart they are bringing to FIRSTkids this summer!

Day 2 of cheering on kids at Field Day and we are LOVING every second of it! ☀️🎉

Getting to step into your world outside the church walls, cheer loud for our FIRSTkids, and see parents, teachers, and classmates celebrating together has been so much fun! ❤️

What a FUN day at Holliday Field Day! ☀️🏃‍♂️🎉

One of my favorite parts was getting to see so many of our FIRSTkids outside the walls of church—laughing, competing, cheering each other on, and just being kids! 💙

Moments like today are such a reminder of how thankful we are to partner with amazing families across our community. Seeing our FIRSTkids shine at school, encourage their friends, and have a blast made the whole day worth it!

We love our kids, we love our schools, and we love getting to be part of this community! 🙌
