James Scarborough’s Obituary Notice:

I was shocked and deeply saddened tonight to discover a post from Vicki Scarborough who had just posted a note reporting that her husband James Scarborough had past away this past Tuesday, December 30, 2025.

James was a great Friend and dedicated Ministerial Colleague. In years gone by, James was Pastor of Westside Baptist Church in Wichita Falls and later I was fortunate enough to ask and invite James to come to work and join me as an Associate on our WAC Baptist Association’s Staff. I always had full confidence in James’s great work contribution and could always trust his decisions and advice. After a number of years together James then accepted the position as Director of Missions for the Baptist Association in Altus, Oklahoma where he served until his retirement.

My heart is broken in the loss of James who was one of my dearest Friends. In addition to our work together at the WAC, James was also a great golfing and fishing buddy. We shared some fun times, great fellowship, many thoughts and shared prayers.
Oh how I will continue to cherish those great memories.

Please join Sharon and me as we continue to keep Vicki, and daughters Cristy, Katie Beth, and their Family in our thoughts and prayers during these most difficult days.

Just want to remind everyone that we have our annual meeting coming up on Tuesday, October 21st at 7pm at FBC Burkburnett.

We will have the Espelands who serve as IMB missionaries in Madagascar share with us about their ministry there and what God is doing in their lives…you won’t want to miss this!

We will also be taking up a special love offering for Pleasant Valley Baptist Church to help with their recovery after lightening struck their steeple several weeks ago. They have both fire and water damage to repair in the aftermath of this event. Please come prepared to share some love and care for them!

We are also going to have some opportunities to help with labor at the church as they will need some help painting in the sanctuary, pulling pews and resetting them for carpet repair (us helping with labor saves about $2500 on the cost of the carpet!)

I look forward to seeing everyone at the meeting!

We have seen God’s goodness over and over again this summer as He has provided so many volunteers, like Ralph and Nancy, who are pictured above!
