When we were our kids’ age, we didn’t have nearly as much access to technology. Now, there’s so much more to contend with...
Our kids have the internet (cue ominous music).
Our kids are spending more time on websites and apps designed for adults, thus getting exposed to things way beyond their years. But at the same time, they're sometimes developing slower socially— because they’re so plugged in, they’re not learning social skills as fast. It's so conflicting because on the one hand, technology has played such a positive role in our families, especially during uncertain times, but there's also that saying about having too much of a good thing...
Well, the good news is, there's hope to raise technology-responsible kids, and that starts with setting up boundaries and having continuous conversations on how to navigate technology safely.
