Whitwell Cumberland Presbyterian Church Whitwell Cumberland Presbyterian Church was organized as the Cheekville CP Church in 1842. The present building was built in 1893.

We worship every Sunday at 10 am, Central Time. We would love to have you worship the Living God with us!

Prayer Request: Please pray for Mark McGowan. He is a brother of Kriss McGowan, pastor of the Cedar Springs CP Church and husband of Kathy McGowan, music director at the South Pittsburg CP Church. Mark had a heart procedure and is having complications from that.

Church Picnic: Our joint picnic with Oak Grove and Ebenezer Churches will be Saturday October 18, at Buntlington Farms. We will eat at 12:30. Then there will be fishing, canoeing and paddle boats. Somebody is bringing their co****le game. Bring your fishing gear, something to add to the meal and friend or two. Everybody is invited.

Help! We have had someone give us a piano which will be an upgrade for us. Does anyone want our old one? Does anyone know of someone who can use it for parts if they repair pianos? We would happily donate it to anyone who can use it.

I had the distinct privilege of preaching at Cedar Springs CP Church for our last combined Sunday night revival meeting. I used Isaiah 62:1-7 as my text. It is fascinating that in verses 6 and 7, the prophet prompts his hearers to give the Lord "no rest" until he make Jerusalem a "praise in the earth". While this is written to ancient Hebrew people in the kingdom of Judah, the spiritual principal applies to modern day Christians as well. I pray that Cumberland Presbyterians will internalize this instruction and give God no rest until Cumberland Presbyterianism becomes a byword for the desire to follow God passionately and with intent.

By the way, I've always found a sweet abiding spirit at Cedar Springs. For anyone looking for a church home, check them out. They worship on Sundays at 9:00 am, central time.
