This Sunday will be Pentecost Sunday; the day in the church calendar when scripture tells us God sent the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove and flames to touch each person gathered that day; to sanctify each one with the gifts of the Holy Spirit; the start of the first century Christian Church.
Those flames came not to destroy but to purify, to anoint, to strengthen, to build up the foundation of the church by gifting each person there with the much needed gifts of the spirit.
Even today, the Holy Spirit continues to bless each person with unique gifts and talents and as followers of Christ Jesus we are called to celebrate that moment and to celebrate the gifts we are bestowed with as we use them to glorify and honor God as we seek to serve others.
Come this Sunday morning in person at 10:00 am as we gather together to celebrate the gifts of the spirit given to each of us and others. All we need to do is look around us to see how much the Holy Spirit has blessed us and others with these special gifts we are called upon to use not for ourselves but to help others.
We encourage everyone to wear something that represents flame to you. We know from what we see when we look into a fire, flames are not just red; but are red, orange, yellow, sometimes green, blue, and purple depending on the chemical makeup of the item and also because God created mukti-colored flame just as God created diversity everywhere!
Our doors open at 9:30 am and our service begins at 10:00 am.
See you there!
