Dear family and friends,

During our study in the book of Nehemiah, Brent taught us that we are to dedicate the work of God in our lives by celebrating with great joy, so much so that the neighbors would hear our joy. Nehemiah 12:27, 43 says:

At the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem, the Levites were sought out from where they lived and were brought to Jerusalem to celebrate joyfully the dedication with songs of thanksgiving and with the music on cymbals, harps and lyres...And on that day, they offered great sacrifices, rejoicing because God had given them great joy. The women and children also rejoiced. The sound of rejoicing in Jerusalem could be heard far away.

God has done great work in the life of our church by bringing Brent Worthington and his family to us and we want to respond in celebration. Please join us on the patio for a luncheon on Sunday, 8/28, after church, 12-2pm, to enjoy tacos together. May the sounds of our celebrating God's goodness be heard in our neighborhood!

God bless you.

Hi Plymouth,

As we've jumped into our salt and light sermon series we realize there is a lot going on and it can be easy to be confused about what is happening when. Below is all the information you need for the various topics and events happening at the church that relate to the series. We will send out an email each week updating you and adding the new events that are coming our way. We hope this helps. We look forward to you joining us in these opportunities, and please let us know if you still have any questions.

Dear Plymouth family,

In several weeks, we will teach about what it means to be the salt and light of the world through outreach. In response, we've partnered with "The Whole Child" to provide (24) backpacks full of school supplies for children from families who struggle with homelessness, chronic illness, or physical disabilities.

If you would like to donate towards this, please check out the Amazon wishlist (see link in bio) and purchase these items within the next 2 weeks. You can also give towards this by noting on your offering for: "The Whole Child Outreach". If you purchase these items outside of the wishlist, simply DM us what the items are and we will update the wishlist.

Additionally, we will meet on Monday, 8/22, from 6:30-8:00pm at church to fill the backpacks and pray for these families.

In today’s sermon, pastor Brent mentioned the iconic Jesus Saves sign that is a beacon to helicopter pilots in LA even on the foggiest nights. Here is an article that gives the history of the signs.

At the Convocation chapel President Corey announced that Biola will pursue procuring an iconic “Jesus Saves” sign.

This Sunday (7/31), we’re starting a new series called “Salt & Light”. Please join us and discover what Jesus means for us to be salt and light of the world.

After each Sunday we will have a church wide activity to respond to the teaching. Our first activity is a church wide prayer and worship meeting on Wednesday 8/3, 7:00-8:30pm at the sanctuary. We hope you will join us!

Have you ever read the Bible and found it confusing, like visiting a foreign country where you don’t quite understand the language, the jokes, the rules and the etiquettes? What do animal sacrifices of the ancient Israelites have to do with my day-to-day life? Should I take the images in the book of revelations literally? The questions are endless!

If this is you, come check out this class on hermeneutics (a fancy word for interpreting biblical text), and learn how to properly handle the Holy Scriptures and deepen your understanding of who God is through the marvelous gift which we call the Bible.

Wednesdays starting 6/29 for 8 weeks at 8pm, church library. Contact for more info.
