UPDATE ON THE BOYLE HEIGHTS FIRE

The warehouse fire in Boyle Heights remains active. Due to the size and duration of the incident, local and state emergency declarations have been issued to support ongoing response and recovery efforts in the affected areas.

At this time, no public safety advisories have been issued specifically for the Whittier community.

Regional emergency response and air quality agencies continue to monitor conditions related to smoke from the incident.

Residents may notice smoke or haze depending on weather conditions and wind patterns. Anyone who sees or smells smoke and is sensitive to air quality impacts should consider limiting outdoor activity.

If you are traveling through areas near the fire, be prepared for possible road closures, traffic delays, and the presence of emergency response personnel.

The City will continue to monitor the situation and share additional information if conditions affecting Whittier are identified.
