With vision God showed Dr. Terrell the way in which he wanted the order of the church to be constructed. That with His Word, He wanted her to teach deliverance and healing. That the captive would be set free, marriages would be restored, those who were once outcast, insecure would find truth to be set free. From that call after many months in prayer, Dr. Terrell started holding a weekly Bible Stud
ies in a spare room of her home. Herself being the only member she faithfully held the service weekly,when her mother began to faithfully join her each week. Her son, his wife soon followed. Not long after her daughters, their spouses and later friends were meeting in the spare roon each Wednesday night. With a demand for more services, Dr. Terrell consulted with God in prayer which way she should carry the small gathering. She then added a Sunday morning service. Once establishing the new services, the spare could no longer occupy the number of people and decisions were made to rent a large room at twenty-five dollars for Sunday services from the Forest Hill Recreation Center, in Burlington, NC. Less than a year, the room was to small and the new found congregation rented a small store front facility that was formerly a laundry mat. With several renovations completed by the members, the New Beginners Church had found a home, little did they know it was to only be a temporary home. Within two years, the congregation was looking for another facility to hold its rapidly growing membership. This move took them to a 2,000 square feet warehouse, that would also need renovation to become a sanctuary. Given discarded theater seats from a local movie theater, and the skills of an in house upholster, the members purchased fabric and cut the pattern and soon the chairs had a new look and were bolted down for seating. Other rooms were converted to offices, a nursery and bookstore. In the congregations mind, this was surely home for awhile, however, they were again mistaken, within two years they were breaking fire codes and the church would have to move once again. Dr. Emma Terrell, this time was convinced that the next move had to be one that had plently of room for growth. She had inquired about propetry that was already being looked at as a meger, she continued to pray. A friend came by to tell her about a location that was for sale. Her daughter also told her of a location she had seen while driving. Dr. Emma decided to have a look. The location was the very same place both her daughter and friend had spoke of, and the exact property Dr. Emma had inquired about months earlier. The seventeen acre site in Whitsett was set to be purchased by eight churches merging together, however the deal fell through and after meeting with Dr. Emma, the owner, so impressed by her presence, on the spot said he wanted her to have the property. After meeting with lawyers and financial arrangements, Dr. Emma Terrell was granted the property. New Beginners Church had once again found a home. There was a building on the property that with a little renovation would easily become a wonderful church for the membership. This time hiring a construction company, the once restaurant, strip club, was now equipped with new pews, carpeting, podium, offices, kitchen and restrooms. What a glorious time and those times continued until again the church was overflowing with members, even with moving the youth out of the sanctuary to the dining area, there was no more room. Now owning the property the only choice was to build on or construct a new church. In September 2000 with four moves within 10 years behind them and faith with each step, Dr. Emma Terrell's leadership, faith, anointing and humbleness to God has moved the vision to what is now the ministry headquarters and plans for the International Faith Dome.
