First Congregational Church of Whitman UCC

First Congregational Church of Whitman UCC We are an active member of the United Church of Christ. We offer family friendly services every Sunday starting at 10 AM.

We are a growing, missionally vibrant, inclusive community, The FCC Whitman was founded in 1807 and was the foundation for the Township of Whitman. “Wherever you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here” Our church is handicap accessable, including an elevette that allows members who have a hard time climbing stairs complete access to our beautiful santuary. Children are welcome to not only enj

oy the services, but engage in them with Pastor's Time with the Children. For children the age of 3 and younger, we offer a nursery downstairs staffed with experienced volunteers. Parents are either welcome to stay with their little one, or are most welcome to return to the Santuary and experience the Services. School age children are welcome to stay in the Sanctuary with their families, participating as they desire in the Service, until they are dismissed for Sunday School. Sunday School is offered to children in Pre-K through High School. Our Church offers UCC approved cirrculum that often coincides with the Sermon, providing children the opportunity to discuss the teachings with their families outside of church as well.We also have a Youth Group for students in Grade 6 and above, that not only teaches our youth the importance of Mission and Social Action, but that you CAN have FUN at Church! Services are always followed by our Fellowship Time in our Fellowship Hall. Coffee and snacks are privided with no charge to congregants or their visitors, although donations are always welcome. We welcome the chance to stay, relax while enjoying coffee/tea/juice and a chance for getting to know our Church Family. We also have a wide variety of Missions currently active including, but not limited to, 2012 Servere Storms Relief, Heifer International, and Watch Our Garden Grow, a food drive for the Whitman Food Pantry. We have many social groups in our church include, Chi Cappas; the Capron Supper Club; an adult Bible Study Group; The Everson Bible Club
There is also a monthly Men's Breakfast offered which takes place at 8AM the second Saturday of the month at Mo's in Hanson, MA. This gathering offers our men the chance to meet and share in a time of fellowship and food.

Rev Patricia’s Message from Sunday. It’s a long one, but worth the listen. Jesus’ prayerful words to his disciples, “As We Are One” —provokes us today to dig deeper-challenges our understandings -invites us to discern how we live out and into this counter cultural guiding principle of our faith.
