This is the day child of God, to make things right with Him, and in so doing, you will experience that for which we all should long for:
The peace of God.

Dear Church family,
I had hoped to be with the Pembroke Baptist church today to share in their joy of dedicating their new building.
However, my health will prevent me from being with you at the dedication. Please pray for strength and ability to preach tomorrow.

The Church today has grown indifferent and irreverent. We must do as Ezra models, fall before our gracious Father and repent of our selfish ways and return and do the works as He has commanded. Heavenly Father help us to see who you are and acknowledge how far we have fallen. Grant us the courage to make the changes necessary in our lives, Amen.

The great social commentator and novelist Charles Dickens wrote "It was the best of times, and the worst of times."
It is the worst of times because the sinful nature of man has continually mocked and blasphemed the Almighty.
Our society reflects the evil in man as it increases in immorality and violence.

It is the best of times because the collapse of society worldwide is the fulfillment of end times prophecy and the soon return of the King of Kings.
When society becomes as wicked and immoral as it was in the days of Noah, Jesus soon return is imminent.
Matthew 24:37.

We are privileged to live at such momentous times because the stage is being set for the triumphant return of The Lord Jesus Christ.

Dear believer, although this nation is without hope, we as children of God have great and unwavering hope. We must focus on our eternal perspective and remain steadfast in our belief that God is in control.

God has promised His Bride that she will escape the wrath to come. First Thessalonians chapter 4:13-18.
As the world faces the consequences of rejecting the only Savior and it's only hope, The Lord Jesus Christ, the Sinner who is saved by grace must steadfastly look up for our redemption draws near.

Does it Really Matter what You Believe?
Something very serious has happened to us. But because there are so many serious things happening all around us, this matter we need to discuss is ignored or dismissed as unimportant. Yet I am reminded that the things that slip up on us gradually can have monumental consequences. The serious matter we must discuss is often ignored by a popular phrase: "It really doesn't matter what we believe as long as we are sincere in our own beliefs." usually said with a smile and a look that says "We are so tolerant of everything that we no longer need a standard to direct our belief."

Now, of course, there are things about which it does not matter what you believe. For example, social customs vary the world over. what may be right in one place may not be right in another. There are many things that are relative in value. What we believe of them is of no eternal consequence. The tragedy is that this thinking has carried over into spiritual matters! So now we are saying that it does not matter what we believe about the soul, or about eternity, or of God. We seem to have the feeling that to be tolerant means we must surrender our beliefs and accept in their place a sort of spiritual hash.

The next few months we will be discussing what is happening in this matter that has eternal consequences, please pray.
