Satan’s desire is to compromise our understanding of God’s love for us and in doing so he compromises our love for God and our love for our neighbor. Satan will never outright say to us. God‘s love for you is not perfect because he knows we will reject that claim. So what he does is chip away at the reality that God‘s love is perfect. He chips away at our knowledge by saying to us has God indeed promised this or promised that, and the promises are small compared to the reality of God‘s total love. But those promises compile or compose the whole of God‘s love. So one promise at a time he chips away to convince us is the actual promise are not of God and in doing so he does compromise our understanding of God‘s love and our ability to love God with all our mind, body strength and to love our neighbors self.
