Good afternoon, ladies!
I just wanted to share a few thoughts on my heart with you from the sermon Wednesday night that will help us as we prepare our hearts for worship tomorrow! (And I do hope that you plan to join us in the morning 🙏🏼😍)
We are studying the book of Galatians on Wednesday night. Brother Clint preached on walking in the spirit from Gal. 5:16-18.
The Christian life is step by step, day by day process of choosing to walk in the Spirit. God calls us to salvation AND sanctification. There is a daily struggle within us between the flesh and the spirit. If we are too busy for the things of God ,the Christian life will not happen for us.
The redeemed soul can never be satisfied with the fulfilling of the flesh.
As we walk with God and in the Spirit we CAN gain victory over sin. 🙌🏼🙌🏼 Now, this doesn’t mean that we won’t ever sin again but we don’t have to let sin rule us.
Why should we want to walk in the Spirit?
1- It will affect our worship.
If we are not walking in the Spirit we can not worship the Lord. Psalm 24:3-4
How many times have we come to church with an attitude or carrying in all of our worries and not focusing on the Lord? We can’t properly worship God like this.
2- It impacts our witness.
We are living epistles for the Lord. God wants us to be a light to the World. How can we do that when we look and act just like the world??
3- It impacts our work for the Lord.
God sees why we do what we do and if we are just going through the motions. 2 Timothy 2:19-21 May we be sanctified and suitable for the Master’s use.
4- It will impact our prayer life. 🙏🏼
Sin in the life of a believer will impact the prayer of a believer. We can’t go to God and bear our hearts and desires to Him with unconfessed sin in our life.
Walking in the Spirit is a daily moment by moment decision. Imagine how much closer to God we can be if we choose Him over all else!
Next Wednesday we will be comparing the fruit of the spirit with the works of the flesh! Brother Clint is very excited and so am I! If you are not coming to the table to feast on the Word that is being presented, then let me encourage you to start coming! You will gain so much from learning what the scriptures mean! 💕
“I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting. In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; but (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.”
1 Timothy 2:8-10 KJV
May we prepare our hearts and be adorned with good attitudes, actions, and attire for worship tomorrow, lifting up holy hands! 🙌🏼
Have a great evening and I pray that I’ll see you all tomorrow!
Much love,
Mrs. Ashley 💕🙏🏼
