I loved seeing these beautiful smiling faces yesterday morning! 😊
Yesterday we did an experiment to represent how God’s protection works. The kids were presented with 2 oranges, 1 peeled and 1 unpeeled. They got to guess whether they thought each would sink or float before putting it to the test. They found that the peeled orange sank straight to the bottom while the unpeeled orange stayed afloat. I told them that the bucket of water is like our troubles that we face daily, and the orange’s peel is like God’s protection. With it, we can stay afloat and overcome the things we face, without it, we may “drown” in it all and allow it to overtake us.
We continued on this with the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego that can be found in Daniel chapter 3. King Nebuchadnezzar wrongly punished the 3 men by throwing them into a blazing furnace. When he looked into the furnace, he saw 4 men walking around unharmed.
So we went back to our lines again that the kids were asked to memorize: “Do not be afraid, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.” We must remember to be faithful to God and follow his commandments and trust in Him and His power.
Also, I often ask if one of the kids would like to say our dismissal prayer, but they are usually all too nervous/shy. Yesterday, one of these babies finally got the nerve to start our prayer, and I couldn’t be more proud! 🥰
