Sunday is coming… and it changes everything.
The stone was rolled away. The grave was defeated. Death lost, and Jesus won. Because He lives, there is hope for the broken, peace for the restless, and eternal life for all who believe.
This Resurrection Sunday, join us as we celebrate the risen Savior and the victory that still changes lives today. Bring your family, bring a friend, and come expecting something real.
You’re invited. We saved you a seat

We had an amazing time serving our community by handing out bottled water at the Whitehouse Sports Association Baseball/Softball Opening Ceremony! It was such a blessing to be part of such a special day.

We’re excited to watch our young athletes grow and shine this season and we are cheering them on every step of the way!

A huge thank you to all the volunteers who came out to serve today, we couldn’t have done it without you. And a special thank you to Seri for singing her heart out during the national anthem, you did an incredible job!

At Victory Baptist Church, we believe in reaching and investing in the next generation. If you’re looking for a church home, we’d love for you to come visit us!

The Notes Meant More.

Recently my family celebrated my birthday and I mean celebrated. It wasn’t just a day. It felt like a birthday week. There were presents. There was pecan pie. There was upside-down pineapple cake (which I didn’t just taste… I devoured). There were so many of my favorite snacks I started wondering if they were trying to send me into a sugar coma.
I felt spoiled. I felt honored. I felt deeply grateful. But can I tell you what meant the most? It wasn’t the gifts. It wasn’t the desserts. It wasn’t even the celebration itself.

It was the notes. Simple pieces of paper. Handwritten words. Their thoughts… put in ink. Reading my children’s memories of moments we’ve shared, things I didn’t even realize made such an impact. Seeing what they remembered. The laughter. The small moments. The time together. And when they wrote about thanking God for giving them a father who loves them… I had to pause. Because those weren’t just words. Those were memories preserved. Gratitude captured. Love documented. And here’s what makes those notes priceless: On a hard day… I can go back and read them. When I feel discouraged… I can revisit them. When I question whether I’m doing enough… I can rehearse what was written. Ink outlives emotion.

It reminded me why God gave us His Word in written form. Not just stories. Not just traditions. Not just feelings passed down. But written truth. So when we’re discouraged, we can read what He’s done. When we forget His faithfulness, we can rehearse His promises. When the next generation rises up, they don’t have to guess who God is, they can read it for themselves.

The Bible says:
“And the LORD said unto Moses, Write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears of Joshua…” — Exodus 17:14 (KJV)

God told Moses to write it down, not for Moses’ sake, but for Joshua’s. Because victories that are not recorded are victories that eventually get forgotten. Joshua didn’t lead off emotion. He led off revelation that had been written and rehearsed. And that’s the lesson that hit me this week:

One day, someone you love will need to read what you lived. Your prayers. Your testimony. The battles God brought you through. The promises He kept. Don’t let your legacy disappear with you. Write the vision. Write the victories. Write what God has done. Because what’s written today… can strengthen someone tomorrow.

John 1:1 - Who Jesus Is

John 1:1 (KJV) - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John opens his Gospel by taking us all the way back to “the beginning.” This echoes Genesis 1:1, showing us that Jesus did not begin in Bethlehem - He has always existed. Let the Bible Define the Bible:

Genesis 1:1 (KJV) - In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Revelation 19:13 (KJV) - …and his name is called The Word of God.

Scripture makes it clear that Jesus is eternal, divine, and fully God. Living in the Kingdom begins with knowing who our King is. Jesus isn’t just a teacher, He is God in the flesh.
Reading Challenge: Read John 1:1–5 slowly this week. Notice what the Word does.

A Thought That Might Change Your Marriage.

Most couples don’t fight because they hate each other.
They fight because something precious feels threatened. It’s rarely about the towel. It’s rarely about the money. It’s rarely about the tone.
More often, it’s about dignity.
This Sunday we’re preaching on..

“Fight To Protect Dignity”
Here’s what the Bible shows us about conflict in relationships:

1️⃣ Recognize the Need for Honor
📖 Genesis 29:18–20; 29:31
Jacob loved Rachel openly but Leah lived unseen. When honor is missing, hurt multiplies. Many fights are really a cry that says, “Do I matter?”

2️⃣ Protect Dignity Through Respect
📖 2 Samuel 6:20
Words spoken in frustration can strip dignity faster than silence ever could. How you speak in conflict reveals what you value.

3️⃣ Fight Fair and Restore Grace
📖 Hosea 3:1; Ephesians 5:33
God shows us that love doesn’t just confront wrong it restores worth. Healthy couples fight to heal, not to win.
Big Truth: Fighting isn’t the problem. Fighting without honor is. If you’re married, engaged, dating, or even healing from past relationships this series is for you.
Follow along. Share with someone who needs this. And remember: the strongest couples don’t avoid conflict… they learn how to fight for each other, not against each other.

WRITE THE VISION
“And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.” - Habakkuk 2:2 (KJV)

There are questions we think… but don’t say in church.
Questions we whisper in the car. Thoughts we carry late at night. Doubts we bury under polite prayers. How long is this going to keep going? How long do dishonest people keep getting ahead? How long does violence feel normal while peace feels rare? How long does doing the right thing feel costly? We don’t ask these questions because we don’t believe. We ask them because we know in who we believe.

That’s exactly where the prophet Habakkuk stood. Not walking away from God but standing close enough to ask God the hard questions. Habakkuk didn’t start with a sermon. He started with a cry. And when God finally answered, He didn’t say, “just feel it” or “keep it to yourself” or “let it stay in your heart.” God said: “Write the vision.” What God speaks in our seasons of waiting is meant to bring clarity into our lives. Clarity for confused hearts with no vision. Direction for the weary souls with no vision. Hope that can be revisited when faith feels fragile because we have lost the vision. Writing doesn’t limit God, it honors what He’s said. What isn’t written gets forgotten.

What isn’t clear to us doesn’t move us forward. But what’s written becomes something we can return to when doubt gets louder than our vision. Maybe that’s why God told Habakkuk to write it plain, so faith would have a record. So others that come after us would have a reference point on where to start. So vision wouldn’t fade when the waiting got long.

Here’s the gentle challenge for “Between Sundays”:

1- Write one prayer God has placed on your heart.
2- Write one direction He’s been stirring in you.
3- Write one promise you’re standing on.

Because when God tells you to write, He’s preparing you not just to believe in Him but to move with Him. Write it. Make it plain. And watch God turn ink into impact in your life and in the lives of others.

At Victory Baptist Church of Whitehouse, Texas, we believe the Christian life is more than a Sunday experience it’s a daily walk under the guidance of Jesus Christ and the truth of God’s Word, the Bible. That’s why we’re introducing a new post series called L.I.K.E.I.T. Learning In Kingdom Everyday In Tyler. These posts are designed to help everyday believers grow deeper in God’s Word not just to be inspired by Scripture, but to be grounded in it.

“As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him.” Colossians 2:6 (KJV)
Learning in God’s Kingdom is more than just attending church or knowing Christian language while going to school, work, or living life in our community. It means allowing God’s Word to shape how we think, how we live, how we speak, how we understand truth, and how we respond to everyday life. When Scripture becomes our foundation, faith moves from information to an authentic personal change and that’s how we learn to live under the rule of Christ every day, right here in Tyler.

Colossians 1:13 (KJV) “Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son.”
According to Scripture, believers are already citizens of God’s Kingdom. The question isn’t are we in the Kingdom? the question is are we learning how to live in it? That happens when God’s Word becomes our authority, our guide, and our foundation. L.I.K.E.I.T. posts will focus on Bible reading verse by verse, line by line, in context. Our goal is to help us read Scripture with understanding, let the Bible explain the Bible, grow confident in what God actually says, avoid taking verses out of context, become rooted, not just emotional, grow from milk to meat (Hebrews 5:12–14)

2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV) Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
We believe God’s people should be some of the most biblically informed, thoughtful, and grounded people in the world. Not argumentative but anchored. Not confused but confident. Not shallow but growing. How we’ll approach scripture, in these posts, we’ll read verses in their surrounding context, compare Scripture with Scripture, explain words, phrases, and themes, show how a passage fits the whole Bible, apply truth without twisting it.

Isaiah 28:10 (KJV)“For precept must be upon precept… line upon line; here a little, and there a little.”
That’s how God designed His Word to be learned slowly, carefully, faithfully. How our posts fit this idea, Between Sundays - It will help us grow a love for putting our faith into practice every day.
L.O.V.E.I.T.- It will help us with living out victory at home, in marriage, and throughout our community.
L.I.K.E.I.T.- It will help us learn to live under God’s Word, grounded in Scripture. Together, these posts helps Christians live faithfully, love intentionally, and learn deeply. If you want to grow in your understanding of the Bible, these posts are for you. Bring your Bible. Read the verses. Think through the text. Let Scripture shape Scripture.

Psalm 119:130 (KJV) “The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.”
Open your Bible not just for a verse, but for understanding. Ask God not just to speak, but to teach. Let’s Live In Kingdom Everyday In Tyler with open Bibles and teachable hearts.
