We are in a sermon series covering Revelation 2-3, entitled, “SHINING BRIGHTLY: The Seven Golden Lampstands.” Our theme song is “Shine, Churches, Shine.” I’ve rewritten the lyrics to Graham Kendrick’s “Shine Jesus Shine” to fit our focus better. Our worship team does a great job with it! This song reminds us that our churches need to be lampstands that display Christ’s glory! The video uses the original lyrics, but below you can read the ones we are currently singing.
Lord, the light of Your love is shining
In the midst of the darkness, shining
Jesus, Light of the world, shine upon us
Set us free by the truth You now bring us
Shine on us, shine through us.
Shine, churches, shine, fill our land with the Savior’s story
Blaze, Churches, blaze, with the Spirit’s fire
Glow, churches, glow, show the nations God’s grace and glory
Proclaim His Word, and let there be light.
As we gaze on Your kingly brightness
So our faces display Your likeness
Ever-changing from glory to glory
Mirrored here, may our lives tell Your story
Shine on us, shine through us.
Shine, churches, shine, fill our land with the Savior’s story
Blaze, Churches, blaze, with the Spirit’s fire
Glow, churches, glow, show the nations God’s grace and glory
Proclaim His Word, and let there be light.
