Here's something nobody tells you: your relationship status doesn't define your significance. You're not behind. You're not half a person. You're not waiting in the lobby of real life. Whether you're single, married, dating, or figuring it out — you matter right now. You have value right now. And God can use you right now.

Donuts Are On Us!

Bring your dad this tomorrow! Seriously, we've got fresh donuts from Duck Donuts waiting for him. Whether it's your actual dad, your husband, your stepdad, your grandpa, whoever, if he's a dad in your life, we want him to be here!

Fair warning: there will be dad jokes. The worse they are, the better.
Come celebrate with us at New Life Church.

Today, we remember Juneteenth — June 19, 1865 — when the news of freedom finally reached enslaved people in Galveston, Texas. We honor the long struggle for liberation, grieve the evil of slavery, and give thanks for every step toward justice and dignity.

And as followers of Jesus, we’re reminded that the deepest freedom is found in Him — freedom from sin, fear, shame, and every chain that keeps us from life with God.

Freedom is worth celebrating.

Freedom is worth protecting.

And in Christ, freedom is offered to all.

Forgive and Forget…Right?

Forgiveness isn't the same as trust.
You can forgive someone and still set boundaries to protect your heart.

Holding onto bitterness is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to get sick.
The only person it hurts is you.

Trust is built brick by brick.

But shattered in a single moment.
And it takes even longer to rebuild.

Forgiveness = releasing the judgment into God's hands.
Boundaries = protecting yourself while you heal.
Both are biblical. Both matter.

We're taught to find the limit — how far is too far with anything in life? But that's the wrong question.

Maturity isn't about getting away with as much as possible. It's about asking: Is this helping me become like Jesus?

Freedom isn't the absence of rules. It's stewardship.

And if you can't say no to something, it's not freedom — it's slavery.

We read this way too casually:

“Your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit.”

That means your body is not a toy.
It’s not disposable.
It’s not yours to use however you want.

You were bought with a price.

What would it look like to stop managing your struggle and actually flee from it? What's one step you'd need to take this week?

The real question isn't what you can get away with. It's what helps you grow.

We all have preferences. Volume in service. Length of the message. We want Christianity just right—not too much, not too little.

But if our faith only works when life is convenient, it won't work when life gets hard.

Jesus wrote to the church in Smyrna. They faced real persecution and poverty. He didn't offer comfort—He called them rich because their faithfulness made them rich.

Jesus asks us: Would our faith survive if it actually cost us something? If following Him meant losing ground instead of gaining it?

Goldilocks Christianity falls apart when life stops cooperating. But Christ-centered faith stands—because it's built on Him, not comfort.
