oking to come, sit, be entertained for awhile and go home. At Covenant, every member is expected to actively contribute to the advancement of the Kingdom of God. Service to others is part of our spiritual DNA. We are committed to being one of the most welcoming and friendly church’s in God’s creation. We truly mean it when we say, “Come as you are!” God looks on the inside not the outside. Happy International Women’s Day!

Today, we celebrate the powerful legacy of women—past, present, and future.

The Women of the Bible showed us what faith in action looks like. Esther risked it all to save her people. Deborah led with wisdom and strength. Ruth displayed unwavering loyalty. Mary carried the Savior of the world with faith and surrender. Their stories remind us that God has always used women to bring about His divine plans.

Women of faith today continue to shape history—pastors, teachers, worship leaders, mothers, entrepreneurs, missionaries, and community leaders. Every prayer you pray, every barrier you break, every life you touch is shaping the world for generations to come.

You are history. You are making history. Your faith, your voice, your presence matters. Keep walking boldly in your calling, knowing that God has uniquely equipped you for such a time as this!

Tag a woman who inspires you and let’s celebrate together!

Service is Worship! Here’s Why 🙏🏾

Worship isn’t just about songs and sermons—it’s also about how we live out our faith. One of the most powerful ways to honor God is through serving others. Here’s why service is a form of worship:

1️⃣ It Reflects Jesus’ Heart – Jesus came to serve, not to be served. When we help others, we follow His example. (Mark 10:45)
2️⃣ It’s an Act of Love – True worship is about loving God AND loving people. (Matthew 22:37-39)
3️⃣ It Glorifies God – When we serve with joy, we shine His light in the world. (Matthew 5:16)

Worship is more than words—it’s action. Every time you serve, you are honoring God!

What’s a small way you can serve someone this week? Let’s inspire each other in the comments!

Love Your Neighbor As Yourself

Jesus called us to a love that goes beyond words—a love that serves, uplifts, and stands for others.

📖 Mark 12:31 – "Love your neighbor as yourself."

This means caring for the hurting, standing for justice, giving generously, and extending grace. It’s how Black communities have survived and thrived—by lifting each other up through faith, love, and action.

How do you put this command into practice? Let’s talk in the comments! ⬇️

3 Ways to Show Love in Your Community Like Jesus

Jesus didn’t just preach about love—He lived it through action, compassion, and service. As followers of Christ, we are called to love our neighbors and uplift our communities. Here’s how we can put love into action:

1️⃣ Serve with Compassion – Whether it’s feeding the hungry, helping a neighbor, or volunteering, small acts of kindness reflect Christ’s love. (Matthew 25:35-40)
2️⃣ Stand for Justice – Jesus stood with the oppressed. We honor His love when we advocate for fairness, dignity, and equality in our communities. (Isaiah 1:17)
3️⃣ Encourage & Pray for Others – A kind word or a prayer can uplift someone’s spirit. Be intentional about speaking life into those around you. (1 Thessalonians 5:11)

When we love like Jesus, we create a world that reflects His Kingdom.

Which of these ways do you practice the most? Let’s talk in the comments!

📖 3 Scriptures on God’s Love That Empowered Black Leaders ✊🏾

God’s love has been a source of strength, courage, and resilience throughout Black history. Many leaders who fought for freedom, education, and justice were fueled by their unshakable faith in God’s promises.

Here are 3 scriptures that empowered them:
1️⃣ Romans 8:38-39 – Nothing can separate us from God’s love. (Rev. Richard Allen)
2️⃣ Philippians 4:13 – Through Christ, we have strength. (Nannie Helen Burroughs)
3️⃣ Isaiah 1:17 – Love seeks justice for the oppressed. (Rev. Anna Julia Cooper)

Their faith was not just belief—it was action. Let’s continue their legacy by walking in God’s love today!

Which scripture speaks to you the most? Drop a comment below!

✊🏾 The Church: The Heart of the Civil Rights Movement ✊🏾

Many of its greatest leaders of the Civil Rights Movement—like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Fannie Lou Hamer, and Fred Shuttlesworth—were church leaders first before becoming activists.

📖 Micah 6:8 says, "Do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God."

Black churches answered this call, organizing protests, providing refuge, and fueling the fight for freedom through prayer, song, and action.

This Black History Month, let’s remember that faith is not passive—it’s a force for love, justice, and change.

⚖️ Love & Justice: A Biblical Calling ⚖️

Many people see love and justice as separate, but in God’s Kingdom, they go hand in hand. The fight for freedom, equality, and dignity has always been rooted in God’s heart for justice.

📖 Isaiah 1:17 – "Seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow’s cause."

From Harriet Tubman leading people to freedom, to churches standing on the front lines of the Civil Rights Movement, Black history has shown us that love fights for what is right. It speaks up, takes action, and uplifts the oppressed.

To love like Jesus is to stand for justice. How are you living out love in action today?
