Hardin County Schools will provide its annual Summer Feeding Program in June and July, 2026. Free meals will be available for any child 18-years-old and younger. The child does not have to be an HCS student. The only requirement is the age requirement.
The United States Department of Agriculture funds the program. The USDA guidelines for summer feeding sites distinguish between rural and urban areas. Rural areas require non-congregate ("grab-and-go") meal service. Urban sites require congregate feeding, where meals must be eaten on-site.
Meals will be served Monday through Friday between June 3, 2026, and July 29, 2026. No meals will be served on Friday, July 3, 2026 (observance of the Independence Day holiday).
Meals will be distributed in the following manner:
Every Wednesday in June and July, participants will receive five (5) days of breakfast and lunch meals provided (non-congregate) at the following locations from Noon until 1 pm. Participants must register to pick up meals in advance by using an electronic form. CLICK HERE for the form. Parents must pick up the meals at the following locations:
West Hardin Middle School
Lincoln Trail Elementary School
The former West Point School building
Rineyville Elementary School
*Note: The meals cannot be eaten at these locations
In addition, meals that can be eaten on site (congregate) will be available at the following locations:
Hardin County Farmer’s Market in Elizabethtown (every Wednesday in June and July)
Dawley Park in Radcliff on the following dates:
June 3, 4, 5
M-F the week of June 15
M-Thursday the week of June 29 (no lunches on July 3 – Independence Day Holiday)
M-F the week of July 13
July 27, 28 and 29
Optimist Park in Vine Grove on the following dates:
M-F the week of June 8
M-F the week of June 22
M-F the week of July 6
M-F the week of July 20
Adult lunch costs will be $4.00 and will be available for purchase at the Farmer’s Market, Dawley Park and Optimist Park sites only.
The HCS Summer Meals program provides free meals to any child (the child does not have to attend Hardin County Schools) 18-years-old and younger. The program is funded and provided by the US Department of Agriculture.
Meals start June 3 and go through June 29, 2026.
