Happy (almost) Easter Sunday! Tomorrow we joyfully celebrate Christ's resurrection from the grave as he conquered Death and sin once and for all for all of us. Today we look for signs of new life (like eggs and bunnies 🐣🐰) to remind us of the new life forever we can have in Christ's family, if we only accept the gift he is so generously offering!

We would love to see you and your families tomorrow at one of our Easter services at 8, 9:30 or 11:15 am!

Join us TODAY at 1 pm or 7pm for one of our Good Friday services, as a reminder of Christ's ultimate sacrifice for us on the Cross, taking the punishment for all of our sins. We would love to have you join us to gather together and reflect on this incredible gift.

John 1:14 β€œThe Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.”

Luke 2:4-7 "Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the city of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David, in order to register along with Mary, who was engaged to him, and was with child. While they were there, the days were completed for her to give birth. And she gave birth to her firstborn son; and she wrapped Him in cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn."

Remember that advent wreath we mentioned a few weeks ago? Well, tonight is the last candle. And unlike the other candles in a traditional Advent wreath which are colored purple and pink, this candle is white to symbolize the coming of the perfect Savior of the world in the form of a baby, Jesus. On this Christmas Eve, let's focus on the word "adoration." This evening, let's pause to worship, give praise, and ADORE the best, most glorious gift that we have received this year and every year!

Merry Christmas!

What's your favorite Christmas Tradition? (drop it below! πŸ‘‡)
There are lots of fun and GOOD things that we like to do around Christmastime, but sometimes our attention is easily pulled away from the reason that we celebrate. The second week of Advent is called the "Bethlehem Candle" or the "week of Preparation." This week we remind ourselves that like John the Baptist prepared people for the coming of Christ, or like we prepare for the festivities of a holiday, we also need to prepare our hearts to celebrate God's wonderful, perfect gift to us...Jesus, born to humble beginnings in the small town of Bethlehem.

What ways do you prepare your heart to celebrate Christ's wonderful gift to us during this busy season of life?

Isaiah 40:3-5:
β€œA voice of one calling: β€˜In the wilderness prepare the way for the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Every valley shall be raised up, every mountain and hill made low; the rough ground shall become level, the rugged places a plain. And the glory of the Lord will be revealed, and all people will see it together. For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.’”

Micah 5:2: But as for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you One will go forth for Me to be ruler in Israel. His goings forth are from long ago, from the days of eternity.

What does the word "Christmas" mean to you? Gifts? Lots of Hot Chocolate and Cookies? Maybe it's a month of parties and Christmas music.

But what about a whole month to think about the birth of Jesus and the AMAZING gift that he brought to us? Lots of times the "true reason for the season" gets buried under all of the fun and good things that we do at Christmas time. Lots of people will follow an advent calendar or advent wreath during the month of December as a special countdown and reminder of the coming of Christmas day. The word Advent literally means "coming" and reminds of of the anticipation that we feel. In the Christian tradition, an advent wreath is used to symbolize the never-ending love of God for us, since it is circular and has no end. In addition, each week allows us to focus on an individual aspect of God's love for us. The first week of Advent celebrates "hope" or "the promise" of a coming Savior.

Isaiah 9:2, 6-7
β€œThe people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness
a light has dawned. […] For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this.”
