✨June Member Spotlight ✨ Scott & Cheri Howe
Scott and Cheri joined Parkview in 1992 after their St. Paul church closed. Looking for a new church, they read that United Church of Christ had begun a partnership with Disciples of Christ (their background). Parkview was just blocks from their house, so they checked it out—and they've been coming back ever since!
Cheri has truly done it all at Parkview. She's volunteered as Sunday school superintendent, nursery coordinator, youth group mission leader, historian, gardener, and choir member. She's served on the Christian Education and Mission Boards, the Transition Team, and as Moderator. One of her favorite memories is the fun of raising funds for youth mission trips through pancake breakfasts and rummage sales, and chaperoning youth on their South Dakota trip.
Scott has served on the Diaconate, Mission Board, Music Committee, and pastoral search team. For over ten years he's run worship audio, and video for the last five, and he's loved working with our musicians to provide music for worship services.
Beyond Parkview, Cheri, who is retired from teaching, still works part-time as a government administrator and especially treasures every Wednesday with their grandchildren. Scott continues volunteering with Scouting America as Scoutmaster for Troop 184, working with Hmong youth for over 40 years—and he still jams with his former band, Orange Moose!
Scott and Cheri, thank you for three decades of faithful service and love for this community!
