Fishing Creek Bap Ch, Whitakers, NC A country church with a big heart. Fishing Creek Baptist Church was founded in 1881. We love a good preachin' and enjoy lively Bible discussions.

We continue to be a rural, country church with a heart for missions and a deep abiding love for Jesus Christ. Most of the 30+ members are related to each other and those of us who aren't feel like we are. We share the fruits of our gardens, look after each other's kids (and parents), and might even take turns taking our elderly to hair appointments and doctor visits. We enjoy getting together for pancake breakfasts, covered-dish lunches, ice cream socials, and sometimes a good 'ol fish fry. We might have a chili cook off on a day we get together and scrub the church from top to bottom, trim the hedges and rake pine straw. Weather permitting there might be a revival and baptism down at the creek.
