Confirmation Candidates Made their Spirit Retreat

On March 14 Confirmation candidates from the English and Spanish programs gathered in Mulcahey Hall for retreat.

Fr. Terry Deffenbaugh, OSA took time out of his busy schedule as chaplain for the University of St. Francis in Joliet to lead the retreat which began at 9 a.m. Parents and sponsors were invited to attend the closing Mass in St. Joseph the Worker Church.

Fr. Terry announced that his work at St. Francis will no longer allow him to do youth retreat work. He ends his long-standing time as St. Joseph's Confirmation Retreat director. He will be missed by the many who experienced his compelling style over the many years.

This is an amazing story.

It reminds me of the Roman soldier who became one of the 40 martyred for their faith by being frosen on the ice. He , seeing their faith, left the warmth of the fire and stripped himself to join them.
