There is a sort of rest that only God can give. You may be in the most peaceful spot on the planet yet lack the peace of heart and mind that can only be provided by having a relationship with your loving Creator. Come to him and he will bless you with a peace that passes any understanding.

Call them white lies. Call them half-truths. Call them "your" truths. Call them lies of omission. Call them whatever you like, but they're all one thing: lies. God's people are called to be honest people who reflect Jesus, the Way, the TRUTH, and the life. Anything less than the truth is NOT the truth. (Of course, if you are worried about telling the truth about what you've done, perhaps you also need to evaluate the things you're doing.)

Hailstones can do some serious damage. Just one can be effective, but in groups of hundreds or thousands they can dramatically change the world they fall into. A lone Christian can do some serious good, but Christians working together can drastically change the world where God has placed them. This is a call for Christians and churches to work together for GOD'S kingdom and to be the salt and light for the world that Jesus said we could be.

Do you want to be a spiritual lifesaver? I have good news and bad news. The bad news is that you can't be. You can't save anyone. But the good news, the GOOD NEWS, is that you know who can: Jesus our Savior. We can lead people to Jesus, point them in his direction, and help them get to know the Savior. But we ourselves are not the Savior.

We sometimes hear about innocent bystanders. But can you be a guilty bystander? You can. If someone in your life is making choices that will hurt themselves or others and you do nothing but stand by as they come to ruin, you will be held responsible for not having at least warned them. You can't stop them from making poor choices, but you can at least try to persuade them not to and so maintain your innocence in the matter.

Guardrails are there to keep cars from going off the road and crashing far more dangerously. God has given us spiritual guardrails to keep people from destroying their lives in destructive ways. These guardrails are known as his commandments, laws, and instructions. They are not there to hurt us or to keep us from "having fun." They are there because he loves us and wants the best for us. The rules of the road and the rules of God help us to stay safe and healthy.

Do you want a guarantee that is 100% reliable? God loves you, will never leave you, and will never turn his back on you. He always hears your cries and sees your situation. And he will never change. NO MATTER WHAT! 100% guaranteed!

After four straight days of talking about spiritual growth, there is one small detail we forgot to mention: sometimes the greatest catalyst for growth in your Christian life is suffering. Trials, as difficult as they are, can produce perseverance in your walk with God and can leave you much stronger than you would ever have been without them. If you are going through a tough time right now, ask God to turn that into a kind of strength that only he can give you.

Spiritual growth should never be about comparing ourselves to someone else. Just because you measure up pretty well with someone else in your life does not mean you are where God wants YOU to be. We each grow at our own rate, and it could be that God wants you to be growing much faster than you are. So, stop looking around at the progress (or lack thereof) of others, and follow Jesus where he leads YOU.
