They say Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year, but what if it doesn't feel like it?
This service is a safe space to reflect and remember the death of a loved one, broken relationships, illness, loneliness, or any other difficult season.
Come as you are. Bring your doubt, lament, sadness, and anger. The God of all hope, joy, peace, and love is near to the broken-hearted. He is the light in the midst of this dark world. This service is open to the community.
Consider inviting a friend, family member or coworker. May the church be a place for the hurting.

Our building is accessible for those who have physical challenges, The front entrance of the building has an external ramp, we have an elevator to access the lower level of the building, and accessible restrooms.

A Call to Prayer and Solidarity

Sunday was a deeply moving day. Members from our Central Conference churches gathered to worship with one of our Latina Covenant congregations, ALIPE, which recently suffered the heartbreaking loss of a family to ICE detention. Though most of the family has now been released, the father remains in custody and faces possible deportation.

Our hearts broke as we learned that they were detained at Millennium Park in Chicago. Their young daughter, clutching her doll, wept bitterly, blaming herself for asking her parents to visit the park she had longed to see.

Over 70 brothers and sisters from different Covenant churches came together that day to stand in solidarity with our Latina congregation — a powerful expression of love and unity in Christ. But this is only the beginning.

Out of our Central Conference’s 110 churches, 14 are Latina congregations, and 8 have reported members detained or awaiting deportation. Many of these churches are experiencing a 50% drop in attendance and giving. The ongoing ICE operations in Chicago have deeply affected our local churches and communities.

So, what can we do as the body of Christ?
We recognize that this is not only a social crisis but also a spiritual battle. The majority of those detained are believers, and yet the Latina church remains the fastest-growing movement in the Evangelical Covenant Church. We must respond both practically and spiritually—through prayer, unity, and presence.

Together with ALIPE, Serve Locally (ECC), and the Central Conference, we invite you to join us for a special time of prayer and intercession—for our city, for our Latina churches, and for God’s guidance to help us see where His Spirit is moving, so that we may walk in step with Him.

Let us stand together in prayerful solidarity for our churches and families who are suffering.
You may ask, “What can I do?”
Pray. Stand in the gap. Be present.

See you at this important gathering of faith and hope.
