Psalm 149 tells us to "praise His Name in the dance." Dance is expression, a physical response to music and emotion using the whole body, which allows us to visually and physically express our worship for the Lord, our joy, and our love for one another. You can join us in the dance at the following times -
Practice: Saturday Mornings (9:00am) - If you plan to dance in the service, PLEASE attend
the practice. Dances may be changed by the circle leader, music may be different than you are expecting, or, there may be other special changes. If you come to practice, you will not only be aware of these factors, you will have a good warmup and have the dance steps ready in your mind. If you do NOT come, you will be doing yourself AND OTHERS a disservice. Worship: Saturday Mornings (10:30am) - During the worship at SODC, we praise the Name of the Lord together in song, and also in dance! This time is for all who desire to join us in dancing and celebrating! Please come to practice if you plan to join us. Session: Tuesday Nights (6:00pm-8:00pm) - A dance session is a fun time - teaching, free dance, and lots of fun. We teach and enjoy both Messianic and Israeli dance. Workshops/Classes - We offer workshops and classes at different times throughout the year - stay tuned to our emails and updates, and to the Mishpocha News, for more information. Remember that there is a thriving Israeli dance community all around us! Visiting an Israeli dance session is a great time of socialization, dancing, and fun. Please remember to be respectful; give witness to our faith with your kind actions and strength of character, NOT by getting in everyone's face (yes, this HAS been a big problem in the past, and yes, you MAY be asked to leave if you act inappropriately).
