Maundy Thursday at Burr Oak this Evening.
There are some nights that encourage our faith, and for generations, Maundy Thursday has been one of our most beloved annual traditions.
The Heritage: Taken from Latin origins, meaning "command," we gather on this night to honor the example Jesus set in the Upper Room—showing us that the greatest among us is the one who serves.
The Experience: This is more than just a history lesson; it is a lived and intimate tradition of our church family. Through candlelight, ancient scripture, prayer, and shared reflection, we step back into the story of the Last Supper and the Crucifixion of Good Friday. It is a beautiful, quiet bridge between the joy of Palm Sunday and the resurrection power of Sunday.
The Invitation: Whether this is your first year or you have attended many times, come find fresh inspiration in the shadows and the grace of this sacred hour.
“For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” — Mark 10:45
