We held our last Helping Hands program before we have summer break, and we went out with a bang!

We started with reading the book “The Friend Who Forgives”.

Next, the kids met Hank. In this demonstration, Hank sinned and got very dirty. He tried to do good works, but it wasn’t enough to wash him clean. But once he accepted Jesus in his heart, he was washed white as snow. The kids loved this so much that we had to try it out a few more time.

We ended with a craft to signify Ascension Day and Jesus returning to Heaven.

An update from our missionary: Haylee Caldwell

Happy Spring!

This month has been full! I began the month with a break from language school and spent a few days away from the city. I didn’t realize how much I missed the countryside until I woke up to the sound of tractors instead of tourists, and saw houses instead of apartment buildings.

This month, our Budapest club gained a new member, which is exciting! When I arrived in October, each club only had one or two consistent students, and this month, there have been four students at each club. Please pray for the students who regularly come to the English club, and pray that we will continue to see growth as we approach camp season.

There have also been lots of summer prep happening this month. Week by week, things are starting to come together. Assembling various teams for our camps is also progressing well. Please pray that we will continue to have students sign up for English camp.

I also had a youth group meeting this month. It is so sweet to see the students opening up more each time. I feel like relationships are starting to build not only between the students and me, but also between the students. Please be praying for me as I continue to design lessons and resources for the youth students and as I work with the local pastor.

It has been interesting and fun to continue with my Hungarian language classes. We’ve gotten to learn a bit about the Easter traditions here, and I’ve finally learned how to speak in the future tense! I also rode home from English club for the first time in daylight since moving here, which was very exciting!
Thank you for your partnership—none of this would be happening without you! I’m so grateful for every message of encouragement; it truly is those small acts that keep me going. I’m praying you have a blessed Easter!
