You may have heard of this fire that took place in Franklin Boro, it was in the local news. The family could use an incredible amount of help right now, and most of all our prayers, so please keep them there. I just received what's written below this evening from a member of our church family. Take a look at the information below.
Pastor Chris
FAMILY IN NEED-FIRE VICTIMS. Dear Friends and Neighbors:
The Family of Matt and Dorothy Davenport along with five of their six children are facing an unimaginable tragedy On Friday night(3/19/21) , as the family slept, a fire raged through every floor of their Nester Street home in Franklin Boro.
Two parents and five children escaped the disaster but their thirteen year old daughter/sister perished in the flames.
In addition to the horrible death of Heaven Davenport, the family now has no home, no clothing, no car, no furniture; they have absolutely nothing. The flames even killed their young son’s dog.
Many people are coming forward with initial help and support but these Sussex County residents will need so much more. Presently, they are living locally with relatives as they prepare to bury their child.
On Friday night, the Davenport Family of seven stood in their night-clothes while firemen, police, and first responders from Hardyston, Franklin, Hamburg arrived to an out- of-control blaze that destroyed everything this family owned and, most unbearably, killed a beloved family member.
Can you help? Look around your home. What can you spare? What can you give to this family?
The Seven Davenports need clothing of all sorts, household items, bedding, blankets, tables and chairs, everything. Cash Cards from Food and Clothing Stores are always welcome. The children’s ages are boy 6, girls 8, 12,15, and 18.
Please let me know what you can do for the Davenport Family
