The shepherd doesn't wait at the gate hoping you'll find your way back. He leaves the ninety-nine and goes after the one. He searches until He finds. And when He does, He carries you home.

You are known. You are sought. You are His.

Sometimes the distance we feel from God isn't because He moved.

It's an invitation. Draw near to Him — and He promises to draw near to you. Not because you've earned it or cleaned yourself up first, but simply because you came.

That's the kind of God we have.

"Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you." — James 4:8

Stand under a starry sky long enough, and you'll feel it. How small you are.

But that's only half the story.

You were made in God's image. Called to have dominion over what He has made. Not as a tyrant, but as a co-regent. Partnering with God Himself to do something good with this world.

Every legitimate thing you do for work, if you pull the thread long enough, takes you back to that purpose.

Your work matters because you were made for it.

"You have given him dominion over the works of your hands." — Psalm 8:6

Your Monday morning matters to God just as much as your Sunday morning.

Jesus spent 18 years as a carpenter. He knows what ordinary work feels like, and He belongs in the middle of yours.

Work heartily. He's there.

"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men." — Colossians 3:23

Have you ever felt too ashamed to come to God?

Shame has been with us since the garden. It's not just about what we've done — it's about how wrong we feel we are. And our instinct is always the same: hide.

But in Matthew 27, Jesus walks straight into shame. He's mocked, stripped, and exposed — and he doesn't shrink back from a single moment of it. Not because he deserved it. But because we did.

He bore shame for who he is, for how weak he became, and for why he came. All of it was for you.

Jesus is not ashamed to call you his. And he was exposed to shame so you could be clothed in his righteousness.

You don't have to hide anymore.

"Looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, despising the shame." — Hebrews 12:2

You don't need a perfect quiet time. You need a consistent one.
Faithfulness isn't a feeling — it's a practice. And God honors the small, steady steps.

"Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up." — Galatians 6:9

Have you ever read a passage of Scripture and thought — how is this good news?

That's Matthew 27. Everything feels wrong. Backwards. Infuriating, even. An innocent man condemned while everyone looks the other way.
But that's exactly the point.

When you realize everything is backward on purpose, it changes everything. What looks like the worst injustice in history is actually God's redemptive plan unfolding exactly as intended.

"For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God." — 2 Corinthians 5:21

What if the most unjust moment in history was also exactly what God intended?

In Matthew 27, everything seems backward. An innocent man is condemned. A guilty man goes free. And no one steps in to stop it.
But that's not a mistake — that's the gospel.

Jesus had no sin of his own to pay for. So every bit of what he suffered on the cross was for you. In his condemnation, we are freed. In his blood, we are forgiven.

Don't distance yourself from what your sin deserves. See it clearly — and then see that Christ bore it in your place.

"It was indeed fitting that we should have such a high priest, holy, innocent, unstained… he offered up himself." — Hebrews 7:26–27

250 years ago, a group of men put ink to paper and declared truths that would shape a nation: that every person is created equal, and that our rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness come not from government, but from our Creator. 🇺🇸

As we celebrate this milestone anniversary, we remember that ultimate freedom isn't found in any document — it's found in the One who created us and calls us by name. Happy 250th birthday, America!
