Village Church - Light the night: Trunk or Treat IS GETTING CLOSER! 🎃
There’s something special about events like Trunk or Treat. And over the last few weeks, we’ve been talking about just how much they’ve meant to Village Church.
Some of the families who now call Village Church home first connected with us through events just like this one. Think about that for a second.
Families we’ve had the opportunity to minister to…who have since turned around and ministered to countless others alongside us.
All because a simple invitation, a little candy, and a whole lot of love created an opportunity for connection.
But making that happen takes YOU.
First, we need your prayers. Pray for every family who will walk through our event. Pray that somewhere between the costumes, the candy, the games, and the conversations, a seed of faith will be planted or watered. What might feel like an ordinary night of fun to someone could be the beginning of something extraordinary in their story.
Second…we need candy. LOTS. OF. CANDY. 🍬
Even if we hand out just 2–3 pieces per child, per trunk, we're looking at needing at least 8,000 pieces of candy!
Now, based on how consistently you all have come through in the past, I suspect a few of you might STILL have some candy left over from 2025. 😂 If that's you, we have a solution for that problem!
Want to donate candy? 🍬 Bring your candy donations to Village Church and help us stock up for the big night! Every bag helps, and every piece gets us closer to making this outreach a success. If you’re unsure where to drop it off, just reach out to one of our staff members, and we’ll help you get it where it needs to go!
And speaking of trunks…we need those, too! We need people willing to host a station, hand out candy, and create a fun, welcoming place for families to connect. Don't have a theme or game idea? No worries! Talk to Nikki, Patrick, or any of our staff. We've got ideas, and we'd love to help you bring one to life.

Finally, we need YOU. Whether that means greeting families, replenishing candy, helping with activities, hosting a trunk, or simply being a friendly face, there's a place for you to serve.
Because this is about more than candy. More than costumes. More than one night on the calendar.
It's about loving our village well. It's about creating opportunities for people to encounter the love of Jesus in ways they might not have expected.
And who knows? The family you welcome this year might one day be the family standing beside you, helping welcome someone else.
