We are Blood bought, Word taught, Spirit wrought believers who bring a message of hope to a lost world. Sunday School and Worship at 11 a.m. Prayer meeting Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m.

We are still having Sunday School at 10 am every Sunday with worship starting at 11. We're doing some remodeling in the fellowship hall and are working on that every Wednesday evening at 6 and having a time of prayer about 7. Everyone is invited at anytime. We only have a porta potty for a bathroom at the present time.

He was born on Easter Sunday 4/5/1931 in Echo, AL. Raised in the community of New Hope, Florida he was the first son of Walton Weston Vaughan and Mary Laird Vaughan. He graduated from Ponce de Leon Florida High School, earned a bachelor degree from Troy State Teachers College, and received a Masters of Music Education from Florida State University. He retired from the Florida Department of Corrections as the Director of Education at the Cross City Correctional Institute having assisted over 2,000 individuals in earning their general education degrees. He was a member of the Cross City Church of Christ and a founding member of Cross City Ecumenical Ministries Food Distribution Ministry. He was a resident of Old Town, FL for 30 years and a dedicated Masonic Lodge No. 268 in Cross City, Florida. He enjoyed fishing in his spare time and occasionally when he did not have spare time.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years Lacy Smith Vaughan. He is survived by his son Walton Stephen Vaughan, his daughter Virginia Ann Vaughan, his grandchildren Nancy Elwynne Vaughan, Stephen Council Vaughan, MaryAnn Alise Jeffery, and his great grandchildren Cooper Graham Jeffery, Callan Grant Jeffery, Council Rowan Vaughan, and Nova Elinore Vaughan.

Funeral services for Mr. Vaughan will be held 6:00 PM EST Friday, December 6, 2024 at the Rick Gooding Funeral Home Cross City Chapel, with Pastor Don Brooker officiating. Interment will follow 1:00 PM CST Saturday, December 7, 2024 at the Mt. Ida Congregational Methodist Church in Westville, Florida.
