New Hope will be providing the family of Sis. Janie Cobb a meal of barbecue and the trimmings in the fellowship hall after the graveside service Monday. Door will be open by 10:00am for anyone wishing to bring anything!

Prayers for the family of one of New Hope’s members, Janie (Hodge) Cobb
April 21, 1943 ~ August 13, 2026
83 Years Old of Hollow Rock, passed away Thursday August 13, 2026 at Henry County Health and Rehabilitation in Paris, Tennessee.

Funeral Services will be conducted 1:00 PM Monday August 17, 2026 in the Chapel of Dilday-Carter Funeral Home. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery. Brother Jerry Roach and Scotty Davis officiating.

The family will receive friends at Dilday-Carter Funeral Home on Sunday August 16, 2026 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Monday August 17, 2026 from 11:00 AM until time of service at 1:00 PM.

Janie was born April 21,1943 to the late Walter Lyles Hodge and Joanne Waugh Hodge. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Cobb; three brothers, Howard Dwayne Hodge, Marvin Wayne Hodge and Huey L. Hodge; four sisters, Martha Jo Douglas, Margaret Lois Seaton, Hazel Maxine Swanner and Iris Ellington.

She is survived by her son, Chris Cobb of Paris, Tennessee; one sister, Barbara (Jerry) Roach of Huntingdon, Tennessee; two brothers Marlin Tyler (Madonna) Hodge of Xenia, Ohio and Lavander Ivan (Jamie) Hodge of Humboldt, Tennessee; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Honoring her as pallbearers will be Bobby Cobb, Brian Bishop, Kelly Hodge, T.D. Hollland, Brent Cobb and Scott Gallimore.

Dilday-Carter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 731-986-8281

Praise God! He is still saving souls! After our morning service was dismissed and a lot of the congregation had already left, one young man came to the alter and gave his heart to God! Coty Robinson asked to join New Hope in baptism next Sunday, August 16th! We will have add-a-dish finger foods after the morning service and then follow with baptism at 2:00 pm! Get the word out!

Sunday is Homecoming at New Hope! We want to welcome all past and present members and anyone who’s family have a resting place in our beautiful cemetery! There will be an add-a-dish meal following the morning service! Come enjoy God’s Word and good fellowship!

Praise God! Wonderful services all week! A big thank you to all those that came out! Enjoyed the sharing of testimonies and songs that uplifted the love for our Savior! We feasted on God’s Word! Good fellowship time as we ate together with physical food as well! Thank you Jesus! Continue to pray for all of the revival efforts around the country! We ALL need REVIVED!
