Before the school year begins, our youth groups took time this week to serve our friends at the Gillespie Center. Our high schoolers prepared dinner, while our middle schoolers spent the morning cooking and serving lunch—sharing kindness, hospitality, and community along the way.

We spent our fourth (and last) full day exploring Antelope Island State Park. Dan, soon to be Deacon and retired president of the Audubon society, kindly showed us around. He shared anecdotes of what Antelope Island was like in the ‘80s, long before the Great Salt Lake lost around 2/3 of its water volume due to human intervention. We were amazed to encounter buffalo as they crossed the road in front of us, as well as a herd of antelope. We ended our final day with a sunset hike, prayer, and a reflection of the incredible week we shared.
