The Confraternity of Christian Mothers has for its object the Christian home education of children by truly Christian Mothers. It plans to unite by the observance of its rules and regulations all Christian ladies, married or widowed, who are willing to assist one another to attain noble purpose. Under the special patronage of the "Mother of Sorrows" the members are encouraged to joyously and hopef

ully to undertake the important task of training and sanctifying the young souls entrusted to their care. They are schooled to edify one another by word and deed, to support one another by fervent prayers and thus become the mainstay of spiritual life within their own family, and a fruitful source of blessings to the community in which they live. This is the principal aim of all Confraternities affiliated with the Archconfraternity.

Christian Mothers & Women’s Guild
2025 Year in Review

As we look back on 2025, we are grateful for a year filled with faith, fellowship, and generous service. Our members joyfully shared their time, talents, and prayers in many meaningful ways throughout the year.

🍪 Serving with Love
• Members donated 12 dozen homemade cookies for the St. Mary School Dinner Raffle.
• Our talented bakers also provided desserts for several evenings during the parish Rescue Project
• Many cookies were donated for the benefit of fellow parishioner Jim Britten, which served 500 meals and sold out in less than one hour.

🎉 Fellowship & Fun
• We hosted a Mother/Daughter BINGO event with nearly 200 members and daughters. Guests enjoyed donuts, bagels, juice, and milk, and BINGO winners received candy bars or gift cards to local businesses. Donations were also collected to benefit Shared Pregnancy.
• At Family Fest, we hosted BINGO once again and donated all gift card prizes to local businesses. This was our first year using a computer program and projector, which was very successful and will continue—especially helpful for the hearing impaired.

🌮 Supporting Parish Programs
• We provided a festive fiesta meal for all 200 participants in the parish Rescue Project, serving chicken and beef tacos with all the fixings and dessert.

💝 Giving Back
• A $100 donation was made to Right to Life.
• On Mother’s Day, carnations were gifted after the 10:00 a.m. Mass to honor and thank all mothers for their God-given calling.

🎄 Sharing CHRISTmas Joy
• Members assisted with the parish CHRISTmas Cards and Basket Project, helping spread joy during the holiday season. Each recipient received approximately 150 cards, along with visits from volunteers who delivered cards and gifts. One volunteer shared: “Thank you for sharing the joy of handing the gift bags out. I had a great visit with ###, who I had never spoken to before. She was so appreciative and said the Christian Mothers have made her Christmas better. It made my day to make that delivery…an unexpected blessing.”
• We donated CHRISTmas meals through the parish Giving Tree. Six families received everything needed for a holiday meal, including a spiral-sliced ham, homemade mac & cheese and mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, California blend vegetables, rolls, pie, oranges, and apples—feeding 12 adults and 17 children.

🙏 Prayer & Remembrance
• Throughout the year, we prayed for fellow members and participated in CMWG prayers at wakes and funerals. Please continue to remember in prayer: Adelene Martin, Lisa Grove, Cynthia Fedewa, Mary Hengesbach, Mildred Droste, and Joyce Thelen.

🌟 Growing Our Guild
• We ended the year with our new member initiation and CHRISTmas gathering at Platte’s Pizzeria, welcoming 14 new members to the confraternity.

It was truly a successful and faith-filled year for the Christian Mothers & Women’s Guild. Thank you to all who helped make 2025 so special!

It was beautiful seeing so many women come together in faith, sharing smiles, prayers, and the true spirit of the season. May we continue to support each other, deepen our faith, and shine Christ’s love wherever we go.

Mother of Sorrows and Patroness of all Christian Mothers, you know that a member of our Confraternity, Mrs. Joyce Thelen has died.
We gather to show our love for her and her family. We beg you, dear Mary, to intercede with your Son Jesus for this friend of ours. May her suffering in purgatory, if any, be very limited. She prayed and worked with us while here on earth. May she now be rewarded for the sacrifices she made.
Strengthen her family in their sorrow. Inspire us at this sight of death to improve our own way of living so that all of us may be worthy to be reunited in heaven for all eternity.
Our Father...Hail Mary...Glory Be...
Eternal rest grant unto Joyce, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul, and the soul of all the faithfully departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
