Weston Community Church

We have finished, for the time being, with the book of Ruth in the Hebrew Scriptures; now we will return to the New Testament and begin a series through the Gospel of Luke tomorrow morning.

I am looking forward to listening intently in the comming months to the texts in the magnificent narrative, Luke's first volume (what's his second?)

Weston Community Church

Tomorrow we will discuss the book of Ruth as a congregation, having finished working our way through that gem on Sunday mornings. The questions (or variations) are the usual:

What was important to you about this narrative?
Did you learn anything new?
Where you reminded of something of value that you already knew?
Did you change your mind over an aspect of the narrative in the course of our series?
How has time in this narrative affected the way you go about your life?

And as always:

Did I fail to mention something in the series that you think is important and wish to call attention to?
Did I say something that you do not agree with and would like to give an alternative reading?

I always and eagerly anticipate listening to what you have to say at the end of a series.

After Easter we will turn our attention back to the New Testament, to the gospel of Luke. This is the only gospel we have not worked our way through on Sunday mornings since I came to Weston in 1988; I’m looking forward to it.

Tomorrow we usually celebrate holy communion; we will postpone that until the following week (at both of our Easter Sunday services). Instead we will have another baptism.

I look forward to spending some time with you tomorrow.
