It’s that time again. New Vision Outdoors is having a water slide day Sunday August 30 at 2 to 4 pm in the upper parking lot at the sportsmen building. We would like to get a count so comment and let me know if you are coming. Boys and girls that wants to be a part of our group come out for a fun afternoon. We will have pizza for the kids.

Would like to ask everyone to pray for some really good friends of ours. Neil O’Saile is dealing with being sent home with no hope of getting better. We pray in the name of Jesus that first of all that God’s will be done. We pray for a miracle for this great man to be healed in the name of Jesus . He has always been a big player in helping us preparing for our wild game dinner. Second Paul Roberson is also been a big player in helping us prepare for our wild game dinner and he is dealing with some health problems that are in need of a healing to be able to have a surgery for hip replacement. His wife Jacqueline is dealing with heart issues and is in need of healing. Please take time to say a prayer for these close friends of ours. These people do not attend our church but they have always been there to help in our ministry when needed.

We certified 17 boy and girls in the hunter’s education tonight. All did well on the range shooting some clay pigeons and 22 rifle. Thanks to all the instructors and Linda Jent for having food prepared for the class. Thanks for all the guys and girls that helped with the shooting today.

I got the scoop on the new baiting laws from one of our TWRA officers. The thing I really wanted to know was can we use deer feeders and the answer was yes. Each hunter must purchase a 50.00 permit to bait deer. Every person that hunts that farm must purchase that permit. Youth included. Under 5 acres of property the restrictions are different. Not clear on that one. Purchasing that permit does not give anyone permission to come on your property. As it has been in the past officers must have probable cause to come on you hunting property. Only 25 pounds of corn can be poured out at one time. There may be other things I didn’t ask about so you should be able to get all restrictions on the TWRA .website.

New Deer Bait Privilege License available July 22

A new Deer Bait Privilege License will be available beginning July 22. The license was initiated by the Tennessee General Assembly and signed into law by Governor Bill Lee during the 2025 Legislative Session.

Hunters wishing to hunt white-tailed deer over bait are required to purchase this license. It will be available through GoOutdoorsTennessee.com and the TWRA On the Go App for $50 for Tennessee residents and $100 for non-residents.

Important: This license is required for anyone hunting over bait, including lifetime license holders and those otherwise exempt from purchasing a hunting license.

The license is valid for 365 days from the date of purchase and applies only to private property (owned or leased).

Hunting over bait is not allowed on Wildlife Management Areas, within the CWD Management Zone, or in any CWD-positive county.
