In Loving Memory of Reverend Gerald E. Tivy
It is with sadness that we share the passing of Reverend Gerald E. Tivy, who entered eternal life on June 13, 2026, the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, at the age of 88. He passed away at St. Joseph's Home for the Elderly, where he had been lovingly cared for by the Little Sisters of the Poor for several years.
Fr. Jerry faithfully served the people of God as a priest of the Diocese of Joliet for more than six decades. He was ordained on May 23, 1964, at Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus by Bishop Cletus O'Donnell and officially retired from active ministry in June 2015.
Fr. Tivy served as Pastor of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish from September 2010 to June 2011. We are grateful for his faithful service, priestly ministry, and dedication to our parish community.
Please join us in praying for the repose of Fr. Tivy's soul and in giving thanks for his 62 years of priestly service to the Church. May Christ, the Good Shepherd whom he served so faithfully, welcome him into the eternal joy of His Kingdom.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.
