Our Community mourns the loss of Xavier Joseph Carbajal, who passed away on March 19, 2026.
Xavier’s visitation will be on Friday, April 24, 2026, from 5:00 – 8:00pm at Griffen Funeral Home on Middlebelt Rd. in Westland. Xavier will lie in state at St. Mary Cause of Our Joy Church on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at 9:30am. Xavier’s Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00am.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord,
And let perpetual light shine upon him.
May he rest in peace.

Jean’s visitation will be on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, from 5 - 8pm at Griffen Funeral Home on Wayne Rd. in Livonia. Jean will lie in state at St. Mary Cause of Our Joy Church on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at 10:30am. Jean’s Funeral Mass will follow at 11am.

In June, we will host a listening session open to all parishioners to gather feedback on the models of the Archdiocesan Restructuring. Archdiocesan Restructuring Workbooks are now available to review at restructuring.aod.org. Right now, you can visit that website to register for one of the listening sessions. The dates for the listening session are:
St. Mary, Cause of Our Joy: June 1 & 3
St. Mary in Wayne: June 9 & 11
St. Thomas the Apostle: June 9 & 11
St. Richard in Westland: June 15 & 17
Please register only to attend one listening session at the parish you normally attend. In addition to the listening sessions, there will also be a opportunity to submit your comments online.
