This week we explored what it means when God describes Himself as "abundant in goodness" (Exodus 34:6-7). It's more than just being nice, it's His unconditional love, generosity, enduring commitment, and promise-keeping loyalty all wrapped into one. Even when we turn away, mess up, or take Him for granted, God continues to shower us with mercy and kindness we don't deserve.

Here's the challenge: if God extends this goodness to us daily, can we show it to others? That person who's let you down repeatedly, the family member who's hurt you, the stranger who leaves trash behind. They all need to see God's goodness through us. When we show Godly goodness to others, we show God. Let's be sure that we are pointing others to God and not away from God.

Describe the word Goodness - can you do it in just one word? 🤔

God uses that word to describe Himself, but that one word contains so much that it's hard to sum up - love, generosity, enduring commitment, promise keeping loyalty - all because of His deep devotion to us. That's the kind of goodness that God shows to us.

Ever wonder why God doesn't just give up on us? This week we explored God's incredible long-suffering from Exodus 34:6-7. In Hebrew, it literally means "long nose" - the idea that it takes a LONG time for God's anger to reach the end of His nose. While we lose our temper over traffic, rude comments, or family frustrations, God gives us chance after chance after chance.

Here's the beautiful truth: When God finally does "let go," He's not striking us down. He's simply stepping back and letting us face the consequences of our choices. But even then, Jesus came to take those consequences upon Himself on the cross. That's love. He doesn't abandon us or forget us. Jesus is our rescuer.

How can God be a good God and also correct and discipline us? It's because He cannot tolerate sin and evil. How could He be good and ignore the way we treat Him and others? When we keep pushing Him away He will eventually stop interceding and let us go and do what we want - and here's a hint: it's not gonna go well for us.

But no matter how far we have pushed Him away, He still provides us with a way out - Jesus! Jesus offers us forgiveness of sins and a chance to be reconciled with God.
