New Church video provides inside look at missionary training center experience

The 21-minute video takes viewers from a missionary’s arrival to departure, visiting classrooms, the cafeteria and devotionals

With the rise in full-time missionary applications and the creation of more missions worldwide, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has produced a video offering prospective missionaries and their families an inside look at how missionaries are trained.
The 21-minute video, titled “What It’s Really Like at the Missionary Training Center,” was filmed at the Provo Missionary Training Center in Provo, Utah, last November, said Ben Taylor, a product manager for the Church’s Communications Department who worked on the video.

“We wanted to make YouTube content that was engaging and interesting to members and friends, showing them things they haven’t seen before,” he said. “Missionaries are such a visible part of the Church, we thought taking folks inside the MTC to show them the process of training to be a missionary would be an eye-opening and enlightening experience.”

President Dieter F. Uchtdorf, acting president of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, and Young Women General President Emily Belle Freeman welcomed members of the local and national media to Temple Square in Salt Lake City on Monday, April 13. Less than a month after all the scaffolding was removed from around the Salt Lake Temple, media was invited to converge on Temple Square to get a first look at the visitors’ center that will welcome guests from around the world for years to come.“The openness of this visitors’ center will show you how temples look inside,” President Uchtdorf says in a video by Church News.

One of the scriptures I've started to like more and more, especially when I'm teaching people, is John 14:6 "Jesus le dijo: Yo soy el camino y la verdad y la vida, nadie viene al Padre sino por mi" I think it sounds better in Spanish, but in English it says "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me" Even though it's a shorter verse, it's still one of the most important and profound ones out there. Jesus is the answer. No matter what the circumstance is, He is always the answer, and is there to help us grow spiritually and physically.
