Honey is an LCC K-9 Comfort Dog for St. She will interact with people at churches, schools, nursing homes, hospitals, military/veteran events, municipal/county courtroom and crisis/disaster response situations. Honey is a friend who brings a calming influence allowing people to open up their hearts and receive help for what is affecting them. Comfort Dogs are available to visit your group or event.

Sometimes it’s good to stop and take a break from daily tasks! I was invited to the ice cream party at Cuyahoga County’s Department of Children and Family Services. The staff enjoyed a sweet treat and some love from me! The affection they showed me was my treat!

I had such a good time with my friends at Fairmont Senior Living of Westlake. While I got lots of pets, my team talked about Friday night football with Vern, heard beautiful music that Louise wrote and sang, and talked with Dorothy about her beautiful collection of glass animals. Isn't it wonderful that God created each of us with unique interests and talents?

While on visits, I see many amazing things! Recently, I was downtown and my team stopped to look at this artwork.

It is based on Matthew 25:34-40

“Then the king will say to those on His right, ‘Come you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom, prepared for you since the creation of the world. I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick, and you looked after me, I was in prison, and you came to visit me.’

Then the righteous will answer Him, “ Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

Then the King will reply, “ truly, I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for Me.”

If you’re ever in the Cleveland area, you can visit these sculptures. The map in the pictures shows you where they are located. The only other place know to have these exact pieces of art is Rome, Italy.

I find it fascinating that God can reach people and all different ways in many different places.

On Saturday, August 15, the Indianapolis area experienced historic flooding. Teams Eternity Comfort Dog and Magdalene Comfort Dog responded by heading to the Ravenswood area to offer a friendly face, a comforting paw and a little relief during a really difficult time. This past weekend, teams Claudia Comfort Dog, Lazarus Comfort Dog and I joined them to give additional support to people who are recovering and assisting with the recovery process.

Some new friends have experienced great losses and were seeking assistance, while others were on scene to help with donations or with the clean-up efforts. Some wanted to talk about what they were going through and other friends wanted to sit with us, pet our soft ears and have a quiet moment to reflect. There were tears and prayers and reassurance that God is near to the broken-hearted.

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Psalm 34:18
